This is featured in Veronica Mars. This song kinda makes me think of a funeral. I actually think its about a singer, who feels sad by his/her split with his/her significant other. The singer has to deal with the tabloids, and fans, and people who dont really care about him/her, but just want to profit. Then, the tabloids ask about his/her significant other, and then the singer is hurt again. |

Crazy theory, but here it is: There is a dying patient in the hospital. He is staying alive for his friend ("Dont you breathe for me"). His friend is hurt so badly, that he has become numb to his friend's death ("'Cus I dont feel bad about it"). The friend feels responsible for the patient's pain, for keeping him alive, but tells himself that he doesnt care ("'Cus their aint no one way That im sorry for what i did!") but he really does, knowing that if he shows it, the pain will just be too much ("And could you cry for me?"). He sits at the hospital bed with a glass of champagne, having his last drink with his friend, dedicating it to keeping his friend alive and in pain. ("A drink, for the horror that I made"). He has an internal conflict, selfishly wanting his friend to stay alive, but knowing that he is hurting him ("For the good guys and the bad guys") "Three cheers for tyrany, Unapologetic apathy, 'Cus their aint no way, That im coming back again" Probably the most emotional lyrics in the whole song: These lyrics show how much the friend cares for the patient, despite his want not to. Every time he visits his friend, he starts to feel emotion, pain, and guilt for keeping his friend alive, even though he wants to remain apathetic to his friend's demise. He decides to "do the right thing" and let his friend die, no longer in pain, by leaving and never coming back again. ("Kiss me goodbye") also fits in to this theme of leaving and never coming back. Finally, "And sleep, Just sleep, The hardest part is letting go off Your dreams" He wants the patient to die, let go of life, and rest in peace. ("letting go of your dreams") referrs to the dreamless sleep of death. |

| Does anyone else find this song incredibly erotic? Especially the whole "I'm so *dirty* babe" part, and the guitar in the very beginning. | |

This is quite an interesting song! Its kindof like a crooning country ballad, but rockier. I think that this song is about someone who doesnt see their lover for a long time, and when they see them again, they still love them, but they can sense something different in their eyes. The person knows that the lover doesnt love them back, but because the lover wont say it, he cant get closure. |
