This is definitely a metaphor for a girlfriend. The song used to really kind of annoy me just because his voice seemed irritating, but listening in on the lyrics one day really cued me in. I love how at the end of the song he says, "I will love you all your days until the breath leaves your delicate frame" So pretty. |

Anyways, I have spent some time trying to figure out what this song is about. Different parts seem to lead to different things.
