The Matches – Little Maggots Lyrics 19 years ago
i think they should make Hallmark graduation cards that say "may your organs fail before you dreams fail you".

The Matches – More Than Local Boys Lyrics 19 years ago
i love the acoustic version of this song. instead of the whole "we're the wolves prowlin'.." part, it's

"some kids get their necks stuck in old chevy engines.
some kids bury their noses in books.
some fall head over heels and get married,
they're all just trying to get a better look.."

it's pretty obvious what the song is about.

Dave Melillo – Excuses Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is my favorite, hands down.

oh and btw it's "precious four years of my life" as opposed to "photos". from "are you willing to give up those nights.." to the end are my favorite part of this song. simply amazing.

Dave Melillo – For the Sake of Remembering Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is obviously about a sudden death. i kept this song with me when my cousin died earlier this summer. there is no way this song is about a relationship in which he hurt her or anything like that, change around the gender a few pronouns and this is an exact reflection of how i was thinking when i was grieving.

The Matches – Clumsy Heart Lyrics 19 years ago
my favorite lines from this song are "goodbye is no good, some sailors should stay (i know a dive hiring nights near japan town)". it's kind of like "please don't leave pleaseplease, i know where you can get a job pleaaseee".

The Matches – Follow The Lights Home Lyrics 19 years ago
i think this has to do with someone shawn knew from croatia/yugoslavia/whatever you'll call it and just how they lived through the whole complicated war that split the country up, and how it makes you think how much better your life is really. read their tour journals.

The Matches – Sunburn vs. The Rhinovirus Lyrics 19 years ago
this song is about having a cold on the beach.
mark hoppus says it in an AP interview about decomposer. he asked shawn what it was about, and he said "a cold on the beach". it's genius, haha.

The Matches – Scratched Out (Track 11) Lyrics 19 years ago
this song actually has no meaning at all. shawn mentioned it in an interview. it was just kind of random and i think that's the beauty of it, it illustrates his way of thinking.

also there's two versions. i've heard them both.
i'm assuming the "come out, virginia.." version is on the first release of the album, because i got my cd waay after epitaph released e von dahl and i have the "come on, jenny" version.
