| The Weakerthans – Reconstruction Site Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I have been using this site for some time and have never seen such passionate and insightful interpretations. Not even on songs by Dylan or Neil Young. To simply put it, this song reminds me why I listen to music. It's a warm song that reminds me of what it feels like to be in love. The stream of consciousness that drives the narrative is phenomenal. This song is near perfection. | |
| Bruce Springsteen – My Father's House Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
I definitely get the impression that the Father is really God, and that this house is really a church. The idea of the church shining "hard and bright," and "calling like a beacon of light" makes me think of the idea that a church as a beacon of light. Which ever way you look at this song, it's a great one. Definitely a shining point on one of Bruce's most emotional albums. If you haven't seen this cover by Ben Harper, it's definitely worth checking out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d5xZmgFOuRA |

| Josh Ritter – Wait For Love Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I think this song is definitely about a break up and just telling yourself afterwards that you have to be patient and wait for love. I don't think that the person he has on his mind really exists, but they're more of an idea of what love should really be. Sometimes we have to wait for love. | |

I love the last part of this song. "If you're anywhere in Manhattan in the next eight days or so..." Makes the whole song incredible. |

Good team work guys! This is without a doubt my favorite song on the new record. The guitar in it is some of my favorite The Hold Steady has ever done. This is what Rock and Roll should be. |

| The Hold Steady – Hurricane J Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
Should be: Jessie I'm not joking around I see the crowd you're hanging with and those kids don't seem positive Don't all the cigs make you tired? You know I'll never ask you to change I'll only ask you to try I know you're gonna do what I know you're gonna do But 22 and banging around in restaurants isn't that much prettier than banging around in bars And why do you keep going to his car I don't want this to stop I want you to know I don't want you to settle I want you to grow Forget all the boys that you met at the harbor You're too hard already. You'll only getting harder Jessie let's go for a ride I know a place that we can stop I know a place that we can drink and kiss for a while I know a place that always makes you smile I know you're gonna say what I know you're gonna say I know you'll at the ground I know you'll probably cry You're a beautiful girl And you're a pretty good waitress Jessie I don't think I'm the guy. I don't want this to stop I want you to know I don't want you to settle I want you to grow Forget everything that I showed you this summer You're too hard already. You'll only get harder They didn't name her for a saint They named her for a storm So how's she supposed to think about how it's gonna feel in the morning She said, if heaven's hypothetical, and if the cigs keep you warm, then how's she supposed to think about how it's gonna move in the morning. Man how it's gonna move in the morning. Man how it's gonna move in the morning. Hurricane Jess, she's gonna crash into the harbor this summer She don't want to wait 'til she gets older Hurricane Jess, she's gonna crash into the harbor this summer She don't want to wait She said, "it only gets harder" |

| Sun Kil Moon – Salvador Sanchez Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Agreed. Love the "Pancho Villa" version. Blows me away. Mark sure does love boxing. | |
| Sun Kil Moon – Pancho Villa Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Surprised there are no comments on this song. One of Mark's best. It seems to just be about boxers that died too young. He really seems to love boxing. | |
| Sun Kil Moon – Neverending Math Equation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I think the line, "I'm the same as I was when I was six years old" sums up the whole song. I think that this means that even though you grow up and gain all this responsibility as you mature into adulthood, you don't necessarily feel like an adult. You still feel like your six years old. Also, looking back on your younger years, you realize you're old because you know you can never have those childhood years back. | |

| Dashboard Confessional – This Old Wound Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about how Chris constantly makes his old wounds new through his songs. By playing the old songs and writing new ones hes always reminded of the things hes been through, and the wounds are never able to heal. | |
