i saw religion in this really. "Let me introduce myself I ’m a social disease I ’ve come for your wealth And leave you on your knees" christianity. a social disease, (im sorry if i offend anyone btw. this is just what i found in the song) the church only wants your money, and leaves you on your knees. "What ’s yours is mine and what ’s mine is mine too If you shake my hand better count your fingers " basically the same as above. "What if I do get caught? What if there is no judgement? If I ’m right I lose nothing If you ’re right I lose it all " what if there is no heaven or hell means he can get away with his sins no problem. if hes right, he loses nothing, no hell. if religion is right, hes fucked and burning in hell. "I ’m guilty haunted by my fears And the only consequences Are dread and the fugitive mind " sinners are guilty haunted by their fears (religion's teachings) and the only consequence is dread (fear) and the fugitive mind (mind trying to deny religion having been tought since early stages of life for example.) "You built walls to protect you So no one will infect you" Churches. "You don ’t know when the end is But it ’s coming fast" religion saying "oh noes, its the apocalypse" over everything, when they really dont know when the end of days actualy is. |

| okay, if its about anarchy, why is he the new king? that justs removes the anarchy. i think its about anarchy not being possible. not for long anyway. somone will rise, most likely the one who "killed the king." so if its not about anarchy at all, its just a song about the idea of removing the one in power to raise yourself to the position. idk. i have nothing to back this other than analyzing what i read. | |

Prometh, i liked your review. one thing im wondering, is the lyrics in the book doesnt say "not even close... to overdose!" either like you said, its sarcasm, or maybe something along the lines of being victorious in being a drug abusing rock star? and was he using heroin before or during this album? |

" correct me if im wrong, but isn't "hangar 18" in any place that holds 18 or more hangars? i dont know if he's talking about a particular one, (51 or roswell if i had to guess) but he may be talking about a generic top secret military base, and thought "hangar 18" sounds like a kickass title. which it does anyway, so i guess it worked. |

It doesnt seem to fit with the rest of the album i think. yet, it has the albums title. I would have assumed its got some kind of other meaning besides what it sounds like. but li ke someone above said, in the booklet of the updated version, he said its about caged hunts. i havent seen the booklet myself. I dont know much about the band themselves, but i see it like actors. i like their characters. or in this case, the lyrics. but anyway, the rest of the album seems like its about mustaines feelings or past. then bam, tree hugger song. (not to sound like i dont care about the enviornment) |
