A2k has got it down. This song is about blending hiphop and rock, fusing all music styles into one awesome sound it is just Hahn and shinoda but they are representing the whole of LinkinPark. "LP and X-men to the tenth degree" proves that. its not the only colaboration, theyve hooked up with Jayzee too yeah, its been aid to much but evry line refers to not just making music but making peace between music lovers. im a Hip hop and hardcore/Metal fan always have been. i like what i like, i dont what i dont. people who have something to say to that can say it. i dont care what you have to say about hahn, this song or anyone on this post list, neither does any one else... twat |

hmm, in gonna say itsounds like its about the clash's first meeting. when they were formed, but i dunno the first verse sounds that way. evry one wats to earn money from bein in a band, its more fun. so did they. then it says they started out gut there name on a poster, worked up from the bottom. they got a manager, he wasnt great but he tried his best as they did. got a contract twith him, all contracts are the same... moneys money, it afforded them new boots at least. regular jobs suck acording to the song. theyre saying get out there, dont waste your life in a factory, start a band and have fun, here this song is aguide to doing that. a littel different from evryone elses perspective, its definitely got little to do with posers... non-conforming enough for ya? oh and hitler isnt my firend, he was an arsehole. so are you. |

maybe a guys whos an out cast, hes alienated (fell form the mothership) people tell him, hes from the mothership too. he lays awake at nigh because of it. more like schoolyard bullys, tell him hes crazy (and an alien) it seems there are thousands of people against him bullying him when its really just a few in his face all the time (you know the scene in movies where its all blurry and vioces echo and overlap) kids telling him to "walk the plank" either die or its soem kind of bullying 'game' maybe the guys is insane though, he lays awake at night hearing voices, trys to tell the voices and/or him self hes not insane. or a guy wondering about his origins, fell from the mother ship, searches for the answers on the ocean bed ie hell never know, theyre unreachable, feels hell never know it coude be one two or a bit of all three, we may never know ; ) |

as said its probably about a gambling addiction i believe the character in the song had the choice between love and gambling, he chose gambling. the song though, is following a guy buying a scratchcard and finding hes lost. ill break it up for you to show what i mean "Scratch card glory" - striking it rich gambling or waist low pleasure? - sex/love of course i believe he is given a chice btween the two wither the chose was made in the distant past or posssibly earlier that day there are reasons to think both. there are three different reasos i can think of; 1. was forced to choose between someone he loved and gambling because they made him ie threatened to leave if he didnt stop 2. could have found love if he wasnt a gambler 3. choice of spending money on gambling or a whore (unlikely) whichever is true its obvious he chose gambling "Black eyes nose bleeds," note plural, he often visited by debt collectors who he cant pay so they 'deal' with him to make him payup? "don’t look back now" his choice has been made, chant change it/doest want to think about how much better life hwould have been. or its too late to back out hes in toom uch debt, only way out is to win big (bad mind set) "My white abode, do you remember? My white abode" -im guessin a house may have been lost in gambling. or its figurative, he gambled evrything he owned "But it’s such a thrill just to find out…" the buzz of anticipation, hoping he'll jackpot this time. hes justifying why he gambles "Sorry you’re not a winner with the air so cold and a mind so bitter" - obviously he didnt win on the scratch card "sorry your not a winner" is revealed when he scratches off the silver. it leaves him feeling cold and bitter... naturally. "What have you got to lose but false intentions and a life so pretentious?" - is he saying it doesnt matter that he lost and trying to fool himself? or is he going to buy another scratchcard/gamble some more. could be saying hell die/be killed if he keepes this up "what have you go to loose but...a life so pretentious?" "I sweat, I ache." hes lost, its common to get a hot flush though anger with yourself when you loose money, it happens to me. or it could just be vaguely relevant filler text. "Wha? Wha? What?" ... its probly what the guys says in reply to "sorry youre not a winner" he stutters unbelieving "w-w-what? i havent won!" or more filler text "Please try again, Insert your coin... " all gambling machines display this to keep you coming back for more, obviously our character is going to buy another one now... this line assures us of that anyway this took me ages so ; ) made me ound really nerdy too, fuckin awesome song, awesome band had to shar that with you. thoughts? |

its not got much to do with DC comics, Shikari is Japanese for "hunters" or literaly "body hunters" people who recover the dead from the battlefields etc. so as said, literaly this song introduces the "hunters" (the band) to the listener. its a bit of role-play tbh. |
