I agree it doesn't have only one meaning I think he talks about his 2 loves; L.A. and Pamela. The man loved this city!! Was the video done when Jim was still alive? I dont think so. And another very important thing about this song: After "glad to sadness" that whole part of Mr Mojo Risin is like an orgasm. It starts really slow and faster faster until the WOAH YEAH RIDE WOAH YEEEEAH which is the climax. Im surprised no one commented on this before! |

| I agree it is about breaking through to the unknown. Mainly with drugs. And the movie SUCKS it is ok that there is a movie about this awesome man, but it seems like Oliver Stone did not do a lot of research before starting it. Hey, he never put Pam in the wardrobe and light it!! so not true and it makes him look like a terrible person. He was no saint OF COURSE, he was a person, with a lot going on in his mind. But this movie was like a patchwork of some stuff the director knew about Jim and it is like a mess!! I mean he had a lot of money to do it, Val Kilmer who looks a lot like Jim, a lot of promotion, and he just didnt do it well!! he had it all, man! it makes me mad | |

It was a very 'free' relationship but he completely loved her no matter what. She was his girl. A while ago I read on a book about Jim that Pamela was like a really bad girl, spending all his money and not caring about him. I dont know. It was kinda shocking. | |

He was a huge car fanatic and more ironic is he didn't know how to drive! He never did. He really is a poetic and guitar genious. I do admire him so much. It sucks that he ain't that popular nowadays I mean he's done so much for music.. Great personality it teaches me a lot of things. Jeepster is like a Jeep. but "jeepster for your love"?? does it make sense? It's a good song though.. but not one of the best TRex songs in my opinion. There are many many better TRex songs out there. |

This song is like heavy but still fun. Makes me think of a gray city on a cloudy day. I loved the scene on Billy Elliot (where theres a lot of TRex music) where they play this song with Billy and this girl he likes fighting with pillows (OH and did you notice her wall with white swans on it?? Ride a white swan!!!!!) |

I loved chinup's comment "Makes me want to smoke a ciggerette and lean up against a wall" so funny and true!! This song is absolutely sexy and I love it. I listen to it like everyday and it's a classic! It's so rocknroll... The only thing that bugs me is I don't understand the metaphores or expressions Bolan uses. English isn't my first language, and lines such as "the teeth of the hydra upon you", "you've got a hub cap diamond star halo", "cloak full of eagles", etcetera are hard to understand. Hubcap is a part of the wheels in a car (?) right? and then I see bang a gong means doing opium and also doing cocaine or having sex (?) On wikipedia it says 'teeth of the hydra..' on T-rex song means he wants to have sex with the girl (with no explanation at all!!) PLEASE help. I kinda have my own interpretation but dont really know what this stuff means. somebody from the UK can help?? please?? :) |
