| Jeff Buckley – If You See Her, Say Hello (Bob Dylan cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |

"Drowned" seems like a bad choice of words, pierrefitter. But even given the recording conditions, I love Buckley's version more than Dylan's. Same goes for "Mama You Been on My Mind." The only Buckley version I've ever heard of this is on Live at Sin-é, and it has slightly different lyrics. Like in the first verse it's "new things come and go" instead of "things get kind of slow" Second verse he sings "it chilled me to the heart" not "pierced" The biggest difference is in the third verse, which goes: "If you're making love to her, kiss her for the kid Who always has respected her for doing what she did For I know it had to be that way, it was written in the cards But the bitter taste still lingers on, it all came down so hard." And the fourth verse starts "Well I meet a lot of people" instead of "I see a lot of people." Mostly small stuff, but the third verse is quite different. I actually like Buckley's better. It's got more soul and it seems less clunky in a way. It's a beautiful version of a beautiful song. Considering how he could cover a song & make it better than the original, it's amazing to me that anyone would try to cover his songs. |

this song is absolutely beautiful. "waking up without you is like drinking from an empty cup" wow. but it most certainly is "boxers" not "boxes" |
