I noticed a few mistakes here.
"Mayor see no eyes" is actually "marciano eyes," as in marciano cherries.
"The country fair's blue ribbon wonder his dinner," is "The county fair's blue ribbon winner is dinner."
I'm not sure if the lyric "emmer-piercing" is correct. "Armor-piercing" seems to make more sense, but emmer IS a type of wheat sometimes used in animal feed.
Also, the last lines of the last verse are supposed to read as follows, I believe. "Finer words for the finer birds taking notes. I dig a chick in pigtails, that's all, folks."
This song is genius. |

It's a wonderful song. And I think you're right that "right a change" is incorrect. I was trying to tab the song the other day, and it sounds like he's saying "by a chain," which really doesn't make much sense either. |

I first heard the NMH version of this song, and I loved it. I downloaded the original version, and I loved it so much that I went out and bought "Are You Sleepy?". Scott's voice is so different, but so amazing. The Gerbils are definitely an underrated band. It's sad that Will Westbrook has passed on. :( |

This is definitely a wonderful song. I love the lyrics and the music. That sound in the background is strange, but I really like it. It's kind of haunting. I wasn't sure if it was him playing distorted guitar with a slide or if it was a violin... the book for the CD says that Dan plays fiddle on the album, and at some points, that background sound does sound like a fiddle. |

This is a great song. I don't remember where I first heard the Black Keys, but it was about 3 years ago, and I ordered Thickfreakness. I loved it, and I let my friend Robby borrow it, and then his mom went on a crazy Christian rampage, throwing all of his CDs away that she felt had anything on it that did not comply with her beliefs, including Thickfreakness. Anyway, I got into a lot of different music after that, but while searching for something new in Barnes and Noble a few weeks ago, I came across my old friends, The Black Keys. I bought Rubber Factory, and I haven't been able to listen to anything since. |

I'm pretty sure he's saying, "And when you went home," not "cold." Anyway, this is definitely one of my favorite songs on this album. It doesn't seem to have much to do with the whole television-Superman-inventor theme, and the booklet references the song as sort of a mid-point, or an intermission, before the beginning of the end of the story, so this song is exactly what the title says: an overture. |

This song, like the rest of the album, is supposedly about using fear to control others. This theme is very obvious in the use of the clip of a man frantically calling into Art Bell's radio station to spill the beans about Area 51 (That call is FREAKY. If you haven't heard the whole thing, go here--->www.metatech.org/Art_Bell_Area_51_aliens_audio_tape.html) . Also, if you like the use of scissors as percussion here, you should (if you haven't already) listen to "A little place called trust" on "Hide the Kitchen Knives." The use of knives in that song is absolutely genius. |
