| Anberlin – Dance, Dance, Christa Paffgen Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
This song is about Christa Paffgen, also known as Nico, who was a German actress/model who turned singer/songwriter in the 1960s. Shes most known for being in the 60s band The Velvet Underground, and after that releasing her own albums.
"I need a fix in those heroin eyes" refers to her heroin addiction, which she battled for 20 years.
"Wanted my heart but I gave her my soul" I think refers to the Bob Dylan song "Dont think twice its alright" in which Bob sings "I gave her my heart but she wanted my soul." Nico had a brief affair with Bob Dylan in the 60s. So pretty much this song is about the "intoxicating" and devastatingly beautiful and mysterious starlet of the 1960s. |

Amazing song. I think this song relates to the world and the bigger picture. Like how the song talks about watching someone drown and as there flailing around trying to be saved another person is just standing there waving and watching. I think this relates to our mother culture, which is defined as "the constant buzz in the ear saying that everything is alright". We just keep watching our friend (the world) drown into the depths of war, poverty, violence etc. and we, the citizens of the world just stand there waving our hand as we watch the world drown. We are listening to our mother culture, telling us that everything is alright and that everything is just fine as is even when its not- which will eventually lead to our destruction. |

I don't think this song is about aliens at all.
It's about people and how they are all the same and completely drained of all originality and creativity by society. For example how they "lock up their spirits" and "live for their secrets" and they are all uptight. The person tries to prove to them that this isn't important and tries to tell them the meanings of life but they shut him away but he's alright |

good song.
i think its about a persons life that was consumed by drugs and sex.
one day the person realizes that this is all there life is, as depressing as it may be.
this song definately gives off a chilly, creepy kind of vibe & does a good job of getting the point across. |

I think this song is about a girl who finds her life as a blur and uses movies and film to escape it, and she finds excitement and hapiness in films instead of her boring and confusing life |

not a bad song. lyrics are good. vocals suck. but this is the band after morrison died in 1971. so obviously due to the lack of popularity with the album "other voices" the band was shit without morrison. the true american poet and only vocalist and frontman of the greatest american band ever, the doors. |
