This song was written about Fry in the year 2512 when he briefly awoke during the time that he was crystallized in a cryogenic freezer. He was in pain but gosh darn it, he just couldn't do anything about it, then he went unconscious again, until his awakening in the year 3000. |

I think this is a reference to the robotic characteristics of everybody's lives; our genetic codes and more or less the patterns we create for ourselves and perpetuate throughout life are in some way or another programmed. This guy 1001001 (binary for the number 73) realizes that his life is pre-programmed, desperately wants to change it, but in the end falls back into the original pattern of his destined life. |
