| Gogol Bordello – 60 Revolutions Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm pretty sure this is the way it's spoken in the song: 60 por minuto es mi reputacion (60 per minute is my reputacion) Y no te estoy hablando de revolucion (And I'm not talkling about revolution) Hace mucho tiempo que yo no te decian (It's been a while since i told you) Basta de injusticia, muerte al policia (Stop the injustice, death to the police) Hace lo que digas, ya esta todo arreglado (Say what you say, everything's already fixed) Digas lo que digas y te mandan deportado (Do what you do and they have you deported) El que tiene impone y sobre la ley dispone (The one that has [the one that's rich] imposes himself on you and arranges the laws) Mientras que el pobre pobre pobre pobre (While the poor poor poor man) Muere de hambre y el otro se la come, y come (Dies of hunger and the other eats him) There's also a part that's not in here that says something like: Si lo mueve como lo bate que rico chocolate, No esperaras que por alguien me mate (if she moves it like she beats it: what good chocolate. don't expect me to kill myself for someone.) roughly, anyway... I love this song. |

| Devendra Banhart – Carmensita Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i do think he meant it in the literal sense though, like you said fernando. | |
| Devendra Banhart – Carmensita Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| i wouldn't always trust the translations from alwaysontherun :/ | |
| Devendra Banhart – Cristobal Lyrics | 17 years ago |
hm. you just contradicted yourself. you said it does not mean "more of a world out there", but then you claimed it does mean "out there"...? anyway, saying there is more of a world that exists out there somewhere is the same thing as what you're saying. just because it isn't a literal translation doesn't make it wrong. it conveys the same meaning. |

| She & Him – Why Do You Let Me Stay Here? Lyrics | 18 years ago |

the album is pretty zooey-centric, but m. ward's presence is definitely more pronounced in other songs! 'i should have known known better' in particular. :) |

| Devendra Banhart – The Other Woman Lyrics | 18 years ago |

| Koop – Relaxin' at the Club Fucking Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| i think it is "all the colors are changing, autumn is here". | |
| Devendra Banhart – Cristobal Lyrics | 18 years ago |
english translation: Torn clothing Black drop Old mare Sweet rain Joins me In the night Until morning There's another world out there More of a world out there There's another world out there More of a world out there There's another world out there More of a world out there Swallowed blood Wise men Silent world I don't hear you Around here Go home yankee The worker wants to study And the student continues to advance Hold on, i left Don't leave and you leave Don't leave and you leave Don't leave and you leave |

| The Clash – Spanish Bombs Lyrics | 18 years ago |
everyone's arguing over the spanish, i figured i'd put my ttwo cents in. to me it sounds like "spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito, yo te acuerda, oh mi corazon" which translates to "i love you forever, i remember you my love" like someone else in here said, the word "corazon" doesn't have to translate literally to "heart". it can be used like "sweetheart" or "my dear" or "lover" as a pet name. i fucking love this song by the way. |

| Devendra Banhart – Bad Girl Lyrics | 18 years ago |
is this song about bianca cassidy? it's beautiful, and it has some of the most passionate singing i've heard from devendra! |
| Devendra Banhart – Carmensita Lyrics | 18 years ago |
what's spelled wrong? let me know and i'll fix it up! for the most part i just literally copied it from what devendra wrote himself. |
| Junior Senior – Hip Hop A Lula Lyrics | 18 years ago |
a couple things though, pretty sure "Setting high, we've been touch and go Cause nobody told us exactly where to go go go" is actually "Searching high, we've been searching low cause nobody told us exactly where to go go" and i think "We mix it up, music to your thoughts" is really "we mix it up to music we adore" anyway. i just saw them live and it was SO FUN SO GOOD SO FUN. |
| Devendra Banhart – Quedate Luna Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| ahh, you're right - venezuelan. i was mistaken! | |
| Devendra Banhart – Quedate Luna Lyrics | 19 years ago |
also, i'm pretty sure "La entreabría" is incorrect. i believe it's "y la estrella(s) brilla(n)", or "the star(s) shine(s)" it's hard to tell, since devendra doesn't pronounce the final 's'. either way, i'm pretty sure "entreabría" is not a word. |
| Devendra Banhart – Quedate Luna Lyrics | 19 years ago |
actually, it is not "prueba a dios en la piel". that would translate to "taste god in the skin". the correct line is "prueba dios en la miel" - "taste god in the honey". and steeza, that's because (i believe!) deveendra is cuban. and los cubans leave off the final 's'. it's not the spanish of spain. jasdfaksf i love this song, though. i play it on the guitar and sing really loudly whenever my roommates aren't home! |
