Keane – Somewhere Only We Know Lyrics 19 years ago
everytime i listen to this song it makes me cry.. i feel like it was made for my first love and me. when we broke up instead of just letting it end i shouldve said "why dont we go somewhere only we know".. as in the place where we had our first date, our own secret place that we only knew about. i still think everyday.. maybe if i had just said that, maybe if we had just taken a walk and talked about it some more.. things would be different. it wouldn't have been the "end of everything". there still hasn't been another guy like him since him. i dont know if there ever will be.. at least not someone for a long time that makes me feel like he did. i still have never talked to him again, or seen him since that very day. &things have only gotten more complicated since then, but with him.. everything was perfect and just right. the tree branches also are significant to me..sigh.. sometimes i'll drive past or walk past that secret special place.. is this the place we used to love? it's all so surreal... i wish we could still talk. or anything really, but its not that simple. oh simple thing, where have you gone.

Daughtry – Over You Lyrics 19 years ago
I LOVE this song. Finally, I am over this. I never thought I would be.

These are my favorite; cause when we broke up, the last thing he did was walk down my hallway to the door.. =/ so weird how it relates:
You took a hammer to these walls,
Dragged the memories down the hall,
Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say.
And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.

Keane – A Bad Dream Lyrics 19 years ago
I get what this song means now, but I'm listening to it right now and it makes me think of a relationship too. Like you're thinking about the old days, and looking back and thinking about that person. But you realize that they're gone now, like a bad dream... and you're alone now. And the fighting part reminds me of a breakup, like you fight to stay strong or to convince the other person to change their mind or whatever battle you're fighting... but you just get so tired of it and give up. And then this line: "In a better time you could be my friend" could mean that once time has passed, even after a breakup, they could be friends again. However, I know that's not what this song is actually about, but it does make sense. That's just my own interpretation though because that's what I think of when I listen to it. Probably just because I went through a bad break-up, though. haha.

Jack Johnson – Staple It Together Lyrics 19 years ago
i like this song, it's fun to listen to and gets you in an upbeat mood. the lyrics aren't bad, i think the chorus is kinda dumb but lyrics aren't everything that makes a good song, the instrumentals are awesome.

but unfortunately.. this song reminds me of my ex.. which is weird because its not a breakup song. but the lines "it's really too bad, he became a prisoner of his own past" stick out to me because we broke up because he thought that i was going to hurt him like all his exs did and he didnt think that it'd be worth it to hold it out any longer. so he became like a prisoner of his own past, because he couldn't forgive people. the line "he's moving on before he understood" is also relevant because he moved on from the relationship before he analyzed the situation or tried to figure out why he was doing it.. he still doesnt understand. i tried to explain it to him at first, that he was just afraid and stuff but yeah. he didnt get it. but yeah... i dont know exactly what this song is about. just my own personal experience from it though.
