I love this song, I have to go to work, I will try to think about how I'd like to try to say what I think about it.

Oh yeah, and also, look at the line "a skeleton of trust right beneath us" is that a solid foundation? or deception at your feet? (a skeleton in the closet sort of thing)

Saddly enough, I think its a reflection upon that old girlfriend/boyfriend that you may have been better off with.

I agree. I love this song. She had said it was written after moving from one side of the island to the other. She said she seems drawn to water. (itunes inteview).

the counting is relative to the time of the song. What movie? I'll have to check that out.

Björk – Alarm Call Lyrics 19 years ago
Well,
-I have walked this earth and watched people.
-I can be sincere and say I like them

But is she saying she likes them? only that she could.

-You can't say no to hope, can't say no to happiness

maybe a self fufilling oxymoron? saying no to hope is your perogative and thus makes you happy...

-I want to go on a mountain-top
-with a radio and good batteries
-play a joyous tune
-and free the human race from suffering

I don't know. I have had those moments where I felt I have figured out a few simple truths about life and wanted nothing more than to tell someone, then when you do, they don't get it.

-I'm no fucking Buddhist but this is enlightenment

To me, this seems more reactionary. a responce to a second guessed question to come by us, the audience. And of course, we'de crudely say, "what are ya', some kind of fucking buhdist?"

-The less room you give me, the more space I've got

the minimalist thing. life does seem to get simpler and priorities a bit more focused when the chips are down.

-This is an alarm-call so wake-up wake-up now

She doesn't buy into the retail world we live in? I don't know...

-Today has never happened and it doesn't frighten me

If we discovered our walmarts wheren't the meaning of life, would it bother us?
