Something Corporate – Me And The Moon Lyrics 16 years ago
This song is about a woman who is abused by her husband.
After years of neglect, she lives in a daze. Her whole life is a lie because she has forced herself to exist in denial for so long.
Finally, she snaps. She kills the man who has battered her all this time.
And she is doubtful that anyone will believe her reasons for killing him.
Knowing nothing else to do, she goes about her business as she waits for the cops to show up.

It strikes me as taking place in the fifties, when men were more or less still considered superior to women.

Silverstein – Red Light Pledge Lyrics 19 years ago
Okay...this is gonna sound really weird, but...
The day my baby kitty Snowflake died, I was upset and listening to Silverstein (as I often do when I'm upset; their music calms me somewhat).
Anyway, "Red Light Pledge" came on, and because of my sadness over Snowflake, the chorus caught my attention:

"Promise me you will be there / until the red light will change... / I would wait forever... / Promise me you will stay here / until the darkness will fade... / I'd wait for you..."

Those lines made me think of my baby Snowflake waiting for me in Heaven...and now whenever I hear the song, I think of him.

RIP, Baby Booger.

Silverstein – Already Dead Lyrics 19 years ago
To me, this song is about someone with an obsession. A SICK obsession.

The line that makes me think this way is the "you'll love me, too" thing.

It seems like he's pretending to like someone, but secretly loathing them. The loathing becomes an obsession until he's become crazy with rage. But after he's killed the person, their eyes continue to haunt him. And even though the evidence is "buried deep", the murder victim won't "ever look away".

I've never read "The Lovely Bones", so I'm drawing my own conclusion.

Ah, the first Silverstein song I ever experienced.

Silverstein – Your Sword vs. My Dagger Lyrics 19 years ago
It reminds me of Romeo And Juliet. Especially the "drink the poison" and "stabbing yourself" and "tragic endings" thing.

But I also just love the whole feel of the song...it could refer to something else enitrely; it could stand alone, even with the references.

Silverstein – The Ides of March Lyrics 19 years ago
This song brings two words to my mind when I hear it: "Stalker" and "Rape".

His "door" being her "window", how he wants to "see into her room" and "feel like he's inside her life"...how he'll "follow her forever". That's the stalker part.

But when it gets angrier towards the end... "Sometimes betrayl can make you happy..." That part makes me think he went crazy and finally shattered his "door" to get to her. Rape, rape, rape.

Either way, I really love this song.

Silverstein – Wish I Could Forget You Lyrics 19 years ago
I love this song, not just for the emotional lyrics, but for the music. The way it flows; it's so pretty.

"You won't repeat this for the rest of the crowd / I know they will miss / but you'll still feel proud..."

They're in a trusting, loving relationship, but no one else understands. Everyone in "the rest of the crowd" "misses" the meaning of their love for each other, but "the crowd" doesn't matter because whether it's "gold" or "fine", their love rises above all.

Silverstein – Fist Wrapped in Blood Lyrics 19 years ago
Whenever I hear this song, it reminds me of my own experiences being bullied throughout my school years.

"Drown your sorrows in my pain / and it's something you can't explain / When I'm choking on word's you'll never say / and you'll never feel the same..."

It's in the perspective of the person being bullied, the person who never did anything to deserve the abusive treatment they're recieving. He's talking to the person who's hurting him, the person who will never see the situation from his point of view.

I like to refer to this song as my own "image song"; I think it describes my own feelings quite well.
