The Living End – Sum of Us Lyrics 17 years ago
I agree 100%. This is my favorite song on the album and possibly my favorite TLE song of all time.

I guess it's mostly about respect for each other. When I first heard it I thought the lyric was "God help(s) those who don't help the others" and I thought it was about inequality in religion, ie how many churches like the catholic church have huge sums of money but really just look after themselves, but I don't think that was the intended meaning of the song.

I think it's mostly saying people who only look after themselves won't have anyone else to look after them when they need help, as "what goes around comes around". so we have to make time for each other, especially those who have less rights and those who have greater struggles in their lives.

I really really like this song a lot.

The Living End – Who's Gonna Save Us? Lyrics 19 years ago
I remember hearing somwhere that it was about the Australian elections around the time it was written. The Australian-released clip for the song kinda reinforces this, but it could be about lots of things.

The Living End – Revolution Regained Lyrics 19 years ago
I have a live recording and before this song Chris says it's all about East Timor. So I'd guess it's about the invasion of East Timor in 1999 by Indonesian gurrilas.

Don't really know about the politics but from what I recall there was a referendum in East Timor for independence from Indonesia. The independence vote was won, but then Indonesian-backed forces invaded, killing over 2000 people.

It fits with the lyrics
