Well, the first part of the song is about him falling from a building or w/e, and landing on the ground. Pretty self-explanatory. The chorus is pretty obvious too. He's the arrow, shot straight to hell, a cross turned upside down, yada yada yada. He's describing how he looks when he is falling. Shot from the bow of William Tell is comparing himself to W.T., in that they both had something to prove. In the 2nd verse, he's basically saying he doesn't believe in God, and doesn't want some priest giving a half-assed speech to him before he dies. Then, in the 3rd verse, another religious figure comes over to him, and tells him to pray. And dude, just basically says "No, I don't believe in God, and he's not gonna help me live, and I want to fucking die anyway, so get the fuck away." But he says it in fewer words. 4th verse- Self-explanatory. He hears the ambulance, he's bleeding, but then his vital signs fail, and the medic says "The time of death is half past six", and then he dies. And for all the people who said "He knows he's going to hell becasue he doesn't believe in God."... Get a fucking clue. Most people who don't believe in God don't believe in heaven or hell either. And, I won't believe in God, heaven, or hell, until you can prove to me that they exist. |

As crazy as this might sound, it actually makes sense if u really think about it. I think this song might be about someone being bisexual/gay. Look: "You've been making some threats Got my name and address" Someone has found out he is gay/bisexual and is making threats. "I'm breaking habits You don't want to know" Turning bisexual/gay (breaking habits-of being straight). "Well I've been crossing some lines That most folks won't" Self-explanatory. "Don't think you're more than this Or above all this With your blah, blah, blah And all your friends" This is about someone popular making fun of him because he is bisexual/gay. "Though the road that we paved Still goes both ways" Goes both ways=bisexual. Anyway thats what i think this song is about. |

Yeah, this song is awesome!!! Well, I guess this song throws the whole "just another generic pop-punk band" thing out the window. I mean, what "generic pop-punk band" uses the words "quintessential" and "existential "?? And is it just me, or does the first verse sound like "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones?? |

"I had no idea where my head was at But if my heart says I’m sorry can we leave it at that " I think this part means that he did something irrationally that had major consequences and now he doesn't want to live up to the consequences. Or this could possibly be girl-related. He could have broken up with a girl for a stupid reason, and now wants her back. Or he at least wants to remain friends with her. "It just now hit me this is more than just a set back" I think this means that he originally thought something he did was only a small setback, but now he realizes that it was something major... I hope all of this made sense :) |
