I LOVE this song! For me, I see him as singing about how lost he was, and how terrible his life had been. When he says "summer is gone" he means the joyful days of his life, and "winter is never too far" shows that there will always be trouble. But despite that, he can still be thankful because he has found someone who is his life, and who he is one with. I see this as being Jesus. whom he has been reaching out to with all his heart, and then Jesus meets with him. At one point in my life, I listened to this song over and over, and it brought me so much hope to think about how the love of Jesus makes all the troubles of life pale in comparison. |

I think this song is about two people in a relationship where they are constantly trying to hold back how they're feeling. He finally gets to the point where he can't fake strength anymore. My favorite line is "I'm not waking up each morning with forgiveness I can use"...I'm not quite sure whose forgiveness he is taking about, but I love how it is worded. |
