I don't think it is religious at all. It is just symbolism recognizable to anyone in a Christian dominated culture. Judas is the embodiment of betrayal, and bearing the cross is as just well known, as a symbol of a burden (generally emothional), almost beyond ones strength to bear. As far as the last persons 1st theory, I hope thats not the meaning for the bands sake... If it is, they'll be driven off by a religious mob armed with crosses and clubs and pitchforks and guns. But I can't see that meaning in the words myself. The 2nd theory, perhaps, but I still don't think so. I'm still going with my theory. I can just see a woman, sobbing and reaching out, but he just stands there emotionless or turns away, making no move to comfort her. Makes me want to step in and save her. |

I think maybe its about a relationship that hasn't ended yet, but she fears it is about to perhaps because they are fighting etc, or maybe just because all her previous relationships failed. Having seen the 'davinci code' comment which I don't really understand, my first guess would seem to be wrong. My thought was that she is having a crisis of faith. She still believes in God, but has lost faith in organized religion. After a long time of blind faith, she suddenly sees the hypocracy and the violence of religion, both now and throughout history. (Nearly every war can be traced back to religion and usually also greed on one or more likely both side, but there is violence on a smaller scale as well.) She disavows her affiliation with them but now fears she lost god's favor in doing so. The rose is a symbol of the outward appearance of religion (rightious, innocent, full of love and beauty), but the hidden truth is the corruption, greed, and bloodshed that is excused as being done in the name of god. The lines about the wrongs she has done, and the darker side, I don't know, maybe she took part in some thing and now feels remorse? Some of that doesn't quite fit, but its the best I could come up with. |

| They fairly well explained what this one is about on their website, it was made for a trailer for the "Spellborn" mmorpg game they are involved in. Its about a visious creature that people were able to drive out, but as they started expanding their borders as people always do, they started getting attacked again. Or something to that effect. | |

A few small corrections: the first line is: Nothing’s ever changed, you still turn away And: 'If my heart is too hold/cold, can we open the door? Can we ever find it all and save my heart?' should be "In my heart I still hope you will open the door, You can purify it all, answer my call" This is according to the WT official site. This is probably the most emotional song on the album, or perhaps any WT song. Bitterness, anger, betrayal, love, dispair. Not sure what it really means, she has had a tramatic experience on her life that her mate either denies altogether, or blames on her, even though perhaps he might be to blame? Regardless he isn't giving her the love and comfort she needs which is causing her even more pain. (Maybe a rape victim, who's mate now has trouble being intimate her; I've heard of that happening) Or she has done something she regrets and has carried the guilt for a long time, but he won't forgive her even though they've stayed together? The "ah, ah, ah, ahhhh" kind of creeped me out and annoyed me at first, I almost didn't give this song a chance, but I did and it grew on me quickly. |

I agree, except I think this is written from the point of view of someone living a decade or two from now if we continue our present course. When the wonton deforestation, polution, etc, has brought the world to the point where it can no longer support us and humans will be on the endangered list... (We’re the last of our kind) Then we will at last put aside the greed that has brought us there and make an attempt to stop it, but it is too little, too late. The effects of our pollution continue long after they are released, stopping the production when we're on the brink won't be enough. (As the sea started rising, The land that we’d conquered just washed away.) Global warming melting the icecaps, rising the sea levels... We conquer the land rather than living with it. (Though balance is something fragile) The ecosystem is a fragile balance that we are tipping. (The sacrifice was much too high) The sacrifice is the destruction of our world in exchange for the profit we make in the process. (Today is the end of tomorrow) This is the best line. Usually it is flipped around "The death of today is only the birth of tomorrow", a cliche of optimism. Here is is the opposite. What we do today is destroying tomorrow. |

Are you sure that it is 'elves' and trees? When I first listened to this song, I heard 'owls' and now listening again, I can't tell, could be either... I think 'owls' works better. Anyway as far as the song meaning goes, I think it is straightforward with no symbolism. Its a fairytale about an orphan boy who grows up in the forest apart from other humans, similar to The Jungle Book or Tarzan. There are slightly more suble points: "He was the only human being Who lived in harmony", in other words the rest of the human race is not. As a race, we are constantly at war with nature, most of our actions damage it, we feel the need to destroy, subdue, push away, or bend it to our own design. (Deforestation, damming and levying of rivers, killing of preditory aminals because they compete with us in hunting game or they might happen to kill the occational livestock... etc, etc) While I find the lyrics interesting, this is actually one of my least favorite WT songs, I guess it is too slow, and something about the sound or rhythm annoys me. It does fit in with the "mother earth" theme though. |

I don't think it is about a relationship between two people in particular, rather I think it is talking about tolerance, ie, people of different racial, religious, etc backgrounds seeing past the steriotypes ("Between the truth and the lies"; "Come into my/your world, See through my/your eyes") and see them as the people they really are. To do the only thing we can to fight intolerance - remove it from our own hearts and be an example to the world: We must be the change, We wish to see. I could be wrong, but thats how I interpet it, and think its a powerful message and a great song. |

"This world may have failed you It doesn’t give you reason why You could have chosen a different path this doesnt sound to be like an ex-boyfriend" I disagree somewhat, that could very well apply to an abusive mate. People that do bad always find a way to shift blame, whether it be that they were abused themselves, or the whole world is against them... Murderer, abuser, really the same type of person, just varying levels of badness... Personally I think the song is about betrayal and revenge, people in many situations can relate to it. It does make sense about the spirits of other victims coming, but I get the feeling of a longer and deeper relationship between the two. Maybe that would be too dificult to convey in a short vid. |
