This is by far my favorite song on the album. It's so beautiful yet so sad. I feel that this song is about how some relationships just start to fall apart and he (the narrator) sees this while his significant other either doesn't see it or doesn't care. "You'll find it hiding in shadows You'll find it hiding in cupboards It will walk you home safe every night It will help you remember" Is that constant nagging that something in the relationship has changed, that pesky little voice in the back of your mind that pops up anytime it wishes to. "If that's way it is Then that's the way it is" He feels like there's nothing he can do to change what's happening, that once that 'spark' has gone out, there's no way to ignite it once more. "I still feel you and the taste of cigarettes What could I ever run to Just tell me it's tearing you apart Just tell me you cannot sleep" He desperately wants who he's speaking to to see how their relationship is crumbling while at the same time missing being close to that person. This definately seems like the point where they're becoming distant. "And you didn't even notice When the sky turned blue And you couldn't tell the difference Between me and you And I nearly didn't notice The gentlest feeling" I like the first two lines a lot. They remind me of the dawning of a new day, and again with the other person not paying attention to/ignoring the change in their relationship and how they've sort of become numb towards one another. And to finalize it, 'The bluest light' is bitter-sweet. While blue is often a symbol for sadness, light is a new beginning, and something good. Two people have just grown apart from one another... but that's just my opinion. Amazing song. |

| "dollar by dollar your soul gets smaller" is such a great line in this song. I feel that Anthony is definately talking about selling yourself to make the songs and albums which will make more money, and even though the fans eat it all up, in the end the fame and glory isn't worth it. | |
