| Queen – You're My Best Friend Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This reminds me of me and my best friend, actually. I fell in love with him, but he turned out to be gay. It doesn't matter though, cause we still love each other very much. To this day, I consider him the best person that's ever happened to me. Thank you, Queen! | |
| Nirvana – Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
let me start off by saying this is perhaps the greatest cover ever achieved. =] as for the meaning, i'd definitely say it's about religion. he's asking the people around him to stop asking him to believe in something he doesn't believe exists. i.e., religion. but that's just me. |

| Yeah Yeah Yeahs – Y Control Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"Y Control" probably refers to the power a guy has over her. (the y chromosome theory) She remembers the way she used to be, and misses it because she thinks she was better off that way. When she entered a relationship, she started changing. The guy manipulated her, and then left her after the damage was done. "I wish I could buy back the woman you stole" |

| Fiona Apple – Not About Love Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
She misses the ache of being in love. With love, comes a lot of hurt. Even though she knows this, she still wants it. "I miss that stupid ache" Either that, or she really DOESN'T want it, and she's cynical, and thinks the concept of love only hurts people who are in it. This is because of something that occurred in her past, or the feeling of an old flame still getting the satisfaction of knowing he hurt her. "And it doesn't seem fair That your wicked words should work In holding me down" "This is not about love! 'Cause I am not in love In fact I can't stop falling out" |

| Against Me! – Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35% Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
It's got me on my knees in a bathroom, praying to a god that I don't even believe in, "Dear Jesus... are you listening?" If this is the one chance that really matters, don't let me fuck this up. If you had told me about all this when I was fifteen, I never would have believed it. ^ my personal favorite part. i think this song is about how the future isn't set in stone, because of that last line, and also because of "I can't believe how naive I was to think things could ever be so simple". He's trying to say that as you get older, you start realizing that the future is constantly changing, and assuming anything is a bad idea. Or at least, that's what I got out of it. |

| Against Me! – 8 Full Hours of Sleep Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| The meaning of the song is straightforward, of course. But it's beautiful. Pure poetry right here, folks. | |
| Weezer – Pink Triangle Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This happened to me recently. My best guy friend turned out to be gay. Hahaha. Poor Rivers, at least he can get some humor out of a relationaship that went awry. Love this song =] | |
| Jack Johnson – No Other Way Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about insomnia. He's worried too much about the things that he's said, or the things that have been said by another person. It's not just himself that he's worrying about, and he's not the only one losing sleep. He really wants to stop worrying. "when your mind is a mess so is mine i can't sleep cause it hurts when i think my thoughts aren't at peace with the plans that we make chances we take they're not yours and not mine there's waves that can break all the words that we said and the words that we mean words can fall short can't see the unseen" |
