DragonForce – My Spirit Will Go On Lyrics 19 years ago
reminds me of the book of revelation in the bible, about the beast ("demon") that shall arise, and the madness being the "ne dtimes" (pretty much, the days that we live in now). also the line about "in the past we are to be or hear the voice", i think that's about the prophets in the bible and the people of the time who believed there was a god.

dragonforce ownz. not seen any better guitar and metal than this:)

Linkin Park – Numb Lyrics 19 years ago
You definately haven't listened enough. The lyrics might seem the same if you're too ignorant to understand, but they all seem to talk about different things actually, and Numb is my favourite Linkin Park song. Again, I say, please don't waste your time insulting Linkin Park. If you don't like the music, then don't post on these boards.

IMO, since I first heard Numb, I've believed it's about someone trying to live up to their girlfriend's (or anyone else's) expectations, and becomming "numb" because they're just become like the other person, but want to be how they were before (and I'd expect they were happier before, too). I like the part that goes "All I want to do, is be more like me, and be less like you".

however, I can very much agree is't about parents who push their kids to be what they want them to be. Also I think it could be about people trying to be what the media want them to be, but they think they won't be popular unless they live up to the expectations of the media (who I think are all corrupt anyway, if you look at what's been made of kids these days, mainly those who cause trouble and take drugs).

I think Linkin Park are brilliant, and I don't like it when people just come on the boards to post crap about bands just to cause trouble. People like different things, and no band is "good" or "shit". In the end, it's just people's opinions. The only real way to tell how good a band is, is by seeing how much they sell, where they get in the charts, how long they last, etc.

Linkin Park – Foreword Lyrics 19 years ago
Actually, I did find a meaning to this song, and probably a very good one. What if, glass being hit with a hammer is like someone being hit by the lies/backstabbing/ill-treatment/etc of someone(s) else? Then it would suggest, that you can only keep on "hitting" someone until they eventually break (that is, the glass breaking at the end).

A lot of Linkin Park songs seem to talk about being pushed a more and more, eventually until reaching the point of breaking (From One Step Closer "everything you say to me takes me one step closer to the edge... and I'm about to break"). This seems to decribe just that - with hitting the glass until it eventually breaks.

Also, like how it goes nicely into Don't Stay. As for the "extra tap", I don't know, but what I said above is what I think Foreword means. After all, that is the message that LP seems to put across in some (if not most) of their songs.

Linkin Park – Hit The Floor Lyrics 19 years ago
Know this, Ddadutta:

For your information, before you judge critically, I am 19 and love LP, and have only started listening to LP since I was 15 (nearly 16). Hence, your theory of "how there is not a single Linkin Park fan above the age of 13 in existence" has just been DISPROVEN!!

Also, I have no problem with any of the types of people you described, and even emos are not to be put down - after all, some of them at least probably have a good reason for liking (relating to) this "emo" music. It appears as if you, unlike the rest of us have never experienced bullying, discontent, serious trouble or anything of the like, but you appear to me to be someone who hangs around in gangs listening to "we're hard, we're tough, we smoke weed, and we'll kick the F out of you" type music.

Anyway, not to waste any more time, I too agree that this is ONE OF my most favourite LP songs. However, Numb is my all time favourite though. Also, if you "SERIOUSLY, READ THE PRECEEDING POSTS, READ THEM THROUGH, ANALYZE THE PRECEEDING POSTS, GO ON", you will actually notice that most people are saying this song is about being backstabbed and then waiting for "what goes around comes around" to happen, where it says

"What goes up will surely fall
And I'm counting down the time
Cause I've had so many stand-offs with you
It's about as much as I can stand
So I'm waiting until the upper hand is mine "

I, and many others, will say this is referring to a person who have made themselves big by lying about someone else (who is trying not to offend them, and who thinks they are a friend but is being duped), and then when the victim can't take it anymore, they are waiting for the right time when they can bring down the false friend and expose him/her for what he/she really is (a liar, of course).

This song is brilliant, and not just for "emos", but has a very good point to it. Also, it's not just under 13s who get bullied/manipulated, it happens to people of all ages. It can also be about being put down and bullied in less obvious ways, such as by corrupt bosses, teachers, government, anyone. Like all LP songs, they are open to interpretation, and often have several meanings.
