It's definitely 'Dan'; when Emmy played in Manchester she mentioned that a lot of people thought it was 'dad' and she was surprised that everyone seemed to have just accepted her apparently having sex wtih her dad... ;)

Well, considering Can't Stand Me Now & Likely Lads, it's not surprising, really, is it? And there's a lot of quite-ambiguous references in these that could be about Pete & Carl, like the "fairytale up on the fifth floor" in Anything But Love, or the knife thing in this. *shrugs* |

I adore this song simply for the way he sings the line "sweet December tastes like suicide". I could listen to that all day...
Meaning-wise, it seems a lot more simple than most of his songs, about a woman who doesn't want to know him any more, I'm guessing? |

This song is just too good to be true. I know it's basically simple, about the breakup of a relationship, but somehow I always get from it that she has no real claim on her lover anyway, maybe she was just friends with this guy but had secret feelings for him? I'm rambling, though. |
