| Tool – Lateralus Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| GOD I love this song so much!!! I am going to die when i hear it live on saturday, (my first tool show). I seriously cant imagine what it would be like to see Tool walk on stage right in front of me, and then to play this song, I am going to be high the entire show without even taking any drugs | |
| Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Something i recently learned was you havent listened to Tool until you listen to them on a really good system. I recently got a lexus and omg when i put this song on it was heaven. This song fucking rules. fucking 5 days till my first tool show and im already shitting in my pants. | |
| Tool – Eulogy Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I dont know what all this fighting and shit is, I would expect this on a slipknot page or disturbed page but not on a tool page. Have you not all relized that people interpret songs in their OWN WAY. Stop trying to change other peoples beliefs just because they dont agree with yours. The point of the website is so that you can post your ideas on what you think the song means and to read other peoples thoughts about it. But if some fuck tries to shit all over tool like Trexor, its ok. | |
| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| OH MY GOD IM ABOUT TO GO FUCKING CRAZY!!! I KEEP READING ABOUT HOW MUCH YOU ALL LOVE TOOL AND I FINALLY GET TO SEE TOOL LIVE ON SATURDAY AND I CANT FUCKING WAIT!!!!!! | |
| Tool – Jambi Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
FUCK TREXOR...lol...Thankyou for making that name. Anyways just want to say that I cant wait till I see Tool live; especially this song...My first Tool show ever...cant wait. Back to TREXOR, I don't know how a Tool fan (which he claimed to be...) can possibly hate the 10,000 days CD. All Tool songs have one thing in common. They all have amazing build up to the end of the song, especially this one and 10,000 Days. I bet TREXOR put on the CD and listened to The Pot and read some of the lyrics and gave up on it because it was different from what he was used to. I bet now after he's listened to the songs he actually likes it. It took me a while to start liking the CD, but I didnt go off saying I no longer liked Tool because they did something different. Fuck you Trexor, Fuck you up your stupid ass. |

| Tool – Eulogy Lyrics | 19 years ago |

I can't remember if I've ever written on this song before so I'll just give my opinion anyways. I think this song is basically calling martyrs idiots. Maynard is always saying in his lyrics (most of them) to appreciating life more. Am I right, (Lateralus, Stinkfist, Parabola, Reflection, etc;) Well don't you think if God created us to live on earth he would want us to make the most of it. Its like his ultimate gift to us, and its pretty dumb that people are killing themselves over his sake, I don't think its necessary and I don't think he would want it. I'm not calling Jesus a fool by any means, but he has already suffered for us why should we continue to kill ourselves? I also think the girl from the Columbine was very brave too and to me that was the right thing to do, and it wasnt completly martyr. |

| Tool – Die Eier Von Satan Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Why the fuck did so many people write about this song, its a fucking German recipe, end of story. And what the fuck do you mean were Americans? | |
| Megadeth – Hangar 18 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is like one of the only songs I know that go off on like 8 guitar solos in a row; except Free Bird; and they both make a great ending to Guitar Hero 2. | |
| The Living End – Carry Me Home Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Medium???? You must suck at guitar hero. Anyways its a pretty weird song, the guitar I mean. | |
| Ozzy Osbourne – War Pigs Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song rules. I thank guitar hero for putting it on their game cause I never would of liked it if it haddent been. | |
| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Now I've never been to L.A., but the image that comes to my mind when I think of it is tall buildings, traffic everywhere, and people constantly talking on their cell phones trying to make more money. L.A. was probably a beautiful town before they cut down trees to make the tall buildings, before cars poluted the air, and before it became crowded with freaks and became a shithole. And its all going to backfire on us one day whether an earthquake cracks california and if floats away, or global warming finally gets to us, and hurricanes form and tidal waves and everything that happened in the The Day After Tomorrow. Basically everything that Maynard is praying for. | |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think in the actual song its some kind of recorder or ocorina with some kind of affect on it, but live Maynard does it with his voice. Just wanna say again how wonderful of a song this is. :) | |
| Tool – 10,000 Days (Wings Pt. 2) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
This is a great song. It has a pretty slow start and thats probably why i didnt like it when I first heard it, but its just great. I love how most the songs on the 10,000 Days CD has great build-up to the end. I listen to this song when I'm tired (usually before i go to bed because its relaxing) and by the end I always want to get up and do something. I love the part where he says: Set as I am in my ways and my arrogance. Burden of proof tossed upon non-believers. You were my witness. My eyes, my evidence. Judith Marie, unconditional one. Thats just good music. If you dont like Tool, then I dont like you. (Trexor) |

| Urge Overkill – Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon Lyrics | 19 years ago |

| Tool – Parabola Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| not really its not hard to see it was about birth... this body holding me...obviously it could be his mom. I thought of that the first time i saw the lyrics. Or maybe I'm just a genius too | |
| Tool – Lateralus Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is by far Tools best song. This is by far the best song ever created. Its so perfect. Its so much deeper than i thought it was. If you havent already heard this CD on drugs, what are you waiting for? Its amazing and if you love Tool you will love them 10 times more if you listen to them high. | |
| Tool – Intermission Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song doesnt have any meaning its just a really cool lead into jimmy like parabol and parabola I think its cool. | |
| Eric Clapton – White Room Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i cant believe only two people have written under this song its a great song. its sucks though, he doesnt play this song live anymore and i really really really wanted to hear it. | |
| Eric Clapton – Layla Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Yall are right about how he wanted George Harrisons wife, Patti. But then why didnt he call the song Patti? Well its because in greek mythology (or some kind of old mythology) Layla was the prettiest of all the women and everyone wanted her but she felt no one was up to her standards therefor was never married off. Thats where he get the LAYLA you got me on my knees part, even though hes really talking about Patti Harrison. | |
| Ozzy Osbourne – No More Tears Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think this is Ozzys best song. Great bass and guitar and drums | |
| Ozzy Osbourne – Crazy Train Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| when was this song made? someone told me it was made in 2002 and i didnt believe them | |
| KoЯn – Another Brick in the Wall Parts 1, 2 and 3 (Pink Floyd cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Your crazy i loved it. Korn really put the rock into this song | |
| Tool – Intolerance Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I dont think this song is making fun of the army on any level. Everyone knows someone who is just all bad. They lie, they cheat, and they steal. I know someone like that (cough); my uncle. He got injured about seven years ago and since then he has been getting checks from the government (when he's in perfectly good condition to work). And since they barely give him enough money to live, he lies, he scams people, he steals from people (mainly me and my family) and just does whatever he can to get some cash. And every now and then he comes to my house and begs us for money and food and i just want to scream; WHY? YOU LIE CHEAT AND STEAL. P.S. Uncle Dan if your reading this I want my 50 dollars back and we would also like our generator back (we know it was you, you left one of your ciggerettes in our garage) |

| Tool – Pushit (Live) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Ok I'm past the whole Tool is "higher beings" crap. Doesn't make since anymore and I apologize for looking like a dumb ass | |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I must of been stoned when i said all that crap | |
| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm not sure if anyones put this yet but today when I was watching Julius Ceaser in my english class, I noticed that he wrote his name Julius CÆSER, which is probably where TOOL got the whole Æ thing, especially since one of their songs on the CD it Cesaro Summability. | |
| Tool – Aenema Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I think its funny how back when they toured after the ÆNEMA CD, sometimes, instead of saying "freaks are in this hopeless fucking hole we call--LA--" He would say the state they were in, EX: New York and he would say see you down in Pennsylvania Bay. Very Clevor |

| Tool – Terrible Lie (Nine Inch Nails cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I'm with Moose T I dont see TOOL doing a NIN cover song, and I definately can't see ADAM playing an acoustic | |
| Tool – Right in Two Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Oh yeah one more thing I forgot to put, FUCK YOU TREXOR. Ok thankyou for your time. | |
| Tool – Right in Two Lyrics | 19 years ago |

To me, and I just started liking this song about a weeek ago, I think this song could be TOOL'S greatest of all time. Yeah thats right, I said it. I mean I listen to this song and it feels like 2 minutes has past when its over. But anyways, this song got me thinking about something. This song is written from an Angel's point of view of humans. That spread the idea that MAYNARD could be an Angel. I laughed at first. It doesnt seem possible. People are always saying that MAYNARD is God, and I always thought they were crazy. Well now, it doesn't seem all impossible. I don't think that MAYNARD is God, but; I do think it is possible that HE could be a higher being of some sort. All of TOOL could be. I just think that THEIR music is to good to be written by any other band. Anyone else agree with that? All THEIR songs are masterpieces, they are so perfect; to perfect. To perfect to be written by human anyways... I'm probably just going TOOL crazy right now but I really do believe this right now. Maybe its just me, and by the post' other people are putting up about TOOL I'm probably not alone; THEY are the perfect type of music for my taste. THEY stand miles above all other bands I like. In case your wondering why I keep capitalizing TOOL and MAYNARD and all words associated with TOOL, its because THEY are such a GREAT BAND, that THEY deserve to be capitalized. And not just the first letter, the whole word. |
|
| Tool – Pushit (Live) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Also another thing I'm thinking while after listening to this song (I mean masterpiece). And I feel really hypocritical saying this. Maynard James Keenan is a God. Or at least a higher being of some sort. All of them have to be. Their songs are to perfect to be written by man. Maynard writes so intelligently, and all of his songs are so deep that I just get the feeling that he is a higher being of some sort. Like in Right In Two, for an example, He's writing the song from what appears to be an Angels point of view. Its so brilliant. Doesnt TOOL seem like the kind of music that Angels would listen to? They do to me. And now that I'm like TOOL crazy, from now on I'm going to capitilize TOOL, and not just the "T", the whole word. | |
| Tool – Pushit (Live) Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Wow what can I say... I listened to this song today after not listening to it for a long time and I was completely speechless afterwards. I had no idea how beautiful this song was until I just listened to it while reading the lyrics. I'm still kind of speechless, all I can say is wow. I guess the first thing that comes to my mind is my X girlfriend. We really were in love and over time things just fell apart. And when i was listening to this song and reading the lyrics, the words were like a complete discription of what happened in our relationship and how I feel about it. I completely welled up with emotion and like I said before I was speechless. The original pushit has been one of my favorite songs for two years and I never even noticed what the lyrics were saying to me. Its just the way Maynard sings in this song that really opened my eyes. Just a beautiful song and I know in the future I am going to be listening to this song ALOT. Thankyou Tool so much for writing this masterpiece. |

| Tool – Parabola Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Also, this is a great work out song. It always gets me pumped up and while listening to this song and then ticks and leaches, I can run for a long time at top speed. Also, since I play highschool baseball, we always have really hard burnouts. Like seeing how many times you can squat 145 pounds. Well after about 100 it becomes really hard. And at about 140 I was completely worn out, I felt like I could do no more, when I started to sing Parabola to myself. I kept screaming to myself: WE ARE ETERNAL ALL THIS PAIN IS AN ILLUSION! And that helped me do 60 more squats, giving me 200; which is really good considering I weigh only 130 pounds. Try it. |

| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 19 years ago |

Ok so the page before this basically told you what i thought the lyrics meant, but now I'm going to tell you what I think the name of the song means. From the lyrics, I got that the meaning of the song was to go out and be social and interact with other people (reflect off of each other). And thats basically where the meaning of the song comes from. People reflecting off of each other. Whether its knowlege being reflected or personality or anything and everything. Think of it this way: People are learning new stuff every day. And most of what you learn comes from people teaching it to each other. Where would we be if our parents didn't teach us anything? Another thing people reflect is personality. Your personality basically depends on your suroundings while growing up. Like how your parents raise you has alot to do with how you turn out. And what kind of friends you have and what type of school you go to. If you think about it, and get really into it, you don't have much say for how you turn out. It all depends on your surroundings. Your personality changes everyday as you go through more experiences and make mistakes. So, basically, I guess what this all means to me is that you cant really judge a person without jugding the people around him. Like in Maynards case, he had a bad childhood as we all know. And that made him the great artist he is today, so think about if he had good parents and good friends. Can you imagine Maynard working a regular job in a suit and tie like a normal person? Maynard is a deep person so I think its a possibility that he could of thought of all of this when he made this song. This is just an optimistic song and so is this CD. So like Disposition, He could just be sitting back and appreciating life and all the amazing stuff I just explained. Or on another note, he could be saying that people are not always themselves and they should be. You know how Maynards always preaching to think for yourself (like the beggining of the Salival Third Eye). So maybe he's saying you have to stop letting people influence you and do what you want to do. But yeah this song has many meanings and this is just the way I think of it. |

| Tool – Ticks and Leeches Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| When I hear this song high, and i hear the drums at the end going really fast, I always picture an octopuse playing the drums really fast. Think about that next time you listen to this song (at the end). | |
| Tool – Eulogy Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This song is great when your stoned | |
| Tool – Reflection Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
The first part of this song is easy to understand. I think its about depression. Everyone goes through it and feels like they have to crawl in a hole so they can escape their problems. The problem with depression is that it can keep getting worst. You move farther and farther in this "hole" and after a while you get used to it. You make peace within the emptiness, and you feel pitiful about it. So when maynard is saying "Its calling me", I believe depression is whats calling him, deeper and deeper in this hole. This makes more sense to me since when he says "Its calling me", you hear an echo, as if you were in a deep hole. While your in depression, as it gets worst and worst, you experience your darkest moment; when things are the worst. You decide you cant take this anymore, you have to do something about it. Some people think suicide is the best solution, but really you just need someone to talk to about your troubles. In the song he is talking to the moon, which makes since because when people are sad or lonely they usually look up at the moon or stars. And the moon is telling him, "As full and bright as I am, this light is not my own and a million lights reflections pass over me". What the moon is saying is that as full and bright as I seem, this light is not my own; the sun gives the moon its light. And the million lights that pass over him I assume, are the stars; gives the moon more appeal. What the moon is saying is that it cannot shine without the sun or stars. This relates to humans reflecting off other humans and another one of my theories that I will explain sometime later. So after he hears "the moons secret", he feels like he understands everything now. That he must join in with other people in order to shine, or be happy, or succeed, etc. This next part is really confusing. The best idea I can come up with is when he says "she" and "her", he is refering to this secret: It's source is bright and endless, she resuscitates the hopeless Without her we are lifeless satellites dreamin' dreams So with my interpretation it would read: Together our source of what we can accomplish is bright and endless; we restore the hopeless, meaning we renew it, or reset the limits to whats possible; Without each other we are lifeless followers chasing our out of reach dreams. And so as he pulls his head out (of depression) he is without one doubt that he doesnt want to be down in the hole soothing his narcissism, that he must crucify his ego. He's not talking about a cocky ego, he's talking about a negative ego, or attitude. So he must get rid of his negative ego before its to late and he pines away. To "pine away" means to lose strength, health, or flesh from grief. So basically he's saying that he must break out of his depression before he gets so deep in this "hole" that he cant move anymore. And in the end he is saying he again that he must crucify his negative ego before its far to late, and leave behind this place (depression) its so, negative and blind and cynical (another word for negative) And we will come to find that we are all one mind, (This one line has a meaning of its own which i will explain later) By working together we are capable of all thats imaginable and all concievable. Just let the light touch you (like its touched him) and let the words spill through just let them pass right through (speak your mind) and lets bring out our hope and reason all before its to late and we pine away. Thats about it. This song is awesome and so is the whole Lateralus CD. It all has so much meaning and symbolism, I love it. |
|
| Tool – Faaip de Oiad Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think Koatis is right (back on the first page). Someone did do a prank around Halloween in 97 talking about aliens were coming and it scared millions of people, especially when the radio station lost its signal for a while. Im not sure if that phone call is the exact song on the CD, but it could of inspired maynard to use it. Didnt maynard live in nevada for a while? The reason i ask is because thats where this phone call was made. | |
| Tool – Disposition Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| This is kind of stupid but while they were playing a show in Birmingham, Alabama back in 01 they were playing this song during a tornado and the first time he said "Watch the weather change", the rain stopped. I'll admit, it was pretty cool, but other people were saying that maynard was god, I hate it when people say that. HE IS NOT GOD, JUST A REALLY COOL GUY. Ok just thought i would share that with yall. And this song is awesome. Now go read what i wrote about reflection. | |
| Tool – Parabola Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I think about every interpretation has been made for this song. The only thing i can add is Maynard sometimes refers to different types of religions and one of which is the Jungian theory, which is what 46 and 2 is about. While reading about this theory i learned that there are 3 stages in life and i read that they go in an arch like direction, like a parabola, and so thats what i think the name of the song came from. | |
| Tool – Schism Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Like everyone knows, tool songs have many meanings in them, and its up to you to determine what you think it means. With that said, I think this song is about a relationship. Everyone has a relationship with someone where things are great, and your all in love with each other, and as time goes by, things start to change, and you watch the peices fall away. In the end, it never works out, even though you really want it to. And you think you should be together because you know the peices fit because you watched them fall away. | |
| Tool – Ticks and Leeches Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Has anyone here seen this song live?? It is amazing or at least Danny is amazing. Maynard kinda sucked in it, but thats understandable. But go to limewire and download the live version of this song. Danny Carey will blow you away! | |
