| To me it sounds like in the first part of the song, he's in love with this girl (maybe an ex) but she's hurting him, but it doesn't sound like it's intentional to me, maybe she just doesn't have feelings for him (anymore). Anyways, he can't move on. He feels like he's stuck because he doesn't want to (or can't) find anyone else to divert his attention to. It also sounds like he's still involved with her (probably just friends) and he knows that if he doesn't break of contact with her, it'll just be harder for him to get over her. Then it looks like he changes his mindset in the second part starting with 'goodbye old friend'. He talks about how he's going to move on and continue with his life at all costs. He's happy for the time they spent together and he's not going to look back and be depressed about it anymore. | |

I'm probably WAY off. But by some of the lyrics, it sounds like it could be about music being fake nowadays and bands being in the music industry just for the money, especially off these little gothix-emo-scene kids. "those young fists clenched in the air make a million millionaires" and "What's the sound of a cashing check?" it makes me think of people being at a show and putting their fists in the air, and the millionaires and check-cashing part talking about how the band is making money off the kids at those shows. "And all those black-haired bandits try to lure me down with their songs and choir, choir, choir" It makes me think of emo kids with their black hair, and how it's such a trend now, and people are just buying into the music because of that. "I'd rather shoot up a syringe filled with fire, fire, fire than go to bed with sounds so vacant and tired, tired, tired." Like saying that you'd rather 'shoot up a syringe filled with fire' than listening to their music, because it's really just overdone and forced rather than something with meaning. "Like speakers crushed beneath an empty tank blowing the ugly off an airbrushed face." Again, this reminds me of music being overdone and fake. Again, I could be totally wrong. That's just my take on it. |

I've heard this song is about a girl Sonny met online. It sounds like it's basically about a boy who loves a girl who lives far away. He loves her and he wants their relationship to work, 'cause she's everything to him. He needs to be with her and the only thing that he can look forward to in the future is being with her. It describes my relationship with someone word for word. >_> I understand how Sonny feels about someone you love online, with the distance and everything. |

This totally describes the relationship I had with my ex. We lived super far away (I live on one end of canada and he lives on the other end in the US) and we loved eachother to death (well, I still do..) and basically every part of this song has a special meaning to me. I still cry everytime I hear it xD "I've got so much left to say, if every simple song I wrote to you would take your breath away, I'd write it all" - I was never good with words and this was what I felt like. xD "I'd walk to you if I had no other way" - This is exactly what he told me, that he'd walk to me if he had to. "Our friends would all make fun of us, and we'll just laugh along because we know that none of them have felt this way" - Our friends always told us that we were stupid because it would never work, but they had no idea how much we cared for eachother.
