This Marc's view of other people. Golden Nose Slim goes around doing cocaine, Purple Pie Pete spends his time with the ladies, Bobby (Dylan) is someone he loves but is just too far out of reach. Jungle Faced Jake is someone easily angered I guess? Telegram Sam, I believe was an actual telegram guy, someone he met at a hotel but that he thought was cool, and apparently he prefered that stranger he met once over all the other people he would hang with. As for Marc himself, he just rocks. |

This one I believe is about Marc naturally doing what he does best (rocking), and still not having anyone to cheer for him. Yet someone else, such as "Michael Mouse" goes around humoring and enticing the crowd by giving them whatever they want from him so they go for him. Basically about those other fake musicians I believe who really have no talent or love for their music but do what they think will give them sales. |

I am very surprised no one has commented on this. This song is about Marc's addiction to drugs and how it messed up his life and how he was trying to repair his life. Beautiful in it's own sad way. Marc did get out of drugs and was climbing back up the ladder of success and sadly died incredibly young. |

This is a song he wrote when he was young (I believe that part). It's two short stories which depress him. Mainly the concept of them. Being left by a woman who lost all affection for you, how the days seem to never change, and how old age can take someone and turn them into a toothless baggy man. It's depressing. |

This is more of a philosophical song to Bolan. He cannot comprehend the elements around him, and he could not see past the sky and so he could not see the cosmic sea. He's never kissed a car before (he's never driven one) because it's like a door. You never know what might happen on the other side of a door. Having always grown his own before I believe he might be talking about marijuana or possibly his own songs.
