Sorry nothing to do with meaning of lyrics... Metallica basicaly did Thin Lizzys version, as far as I can tell they (Thin Lizzy) changed the more traditional lyrics to the ones Hetfield used, but theres loads of slightly different ones anyway. The chorus is a lot quicker in all the records and proformances of the traditional version that I've ever heard, usualy with a lot of foot stamping between the lines. Great fun when your drunk. Hammett plays the guitar solo from TLs version as well, changes a few notes here and there, it was either Eric Bell or Scott Goram on 'Lizzys record I can't remember. As for the music, Metallicas is a bit faster, much heavier and just sounds so much better. |
