well, i think the conclusion we can all come to is that none of us knows what this song means. however, we all have our opinions and thats a beautiful thing. this song is also a beautiful thing. the line that has a tight hold on my mind...that has intrigued me since i have first heard it is "one hand is bleeding and the other hand holds a gun" my first impression was to think - we are our own worst enemies - 2 hands connected to 2 arms connected to 1 body controlled by one mind controlled by one person. one of the hands is bleeding and the other hand is holding the cause of the bleeding. but thats just me. keep on keeping on, friends. |

this may be one of the most clear cut examples that few people listen to good music this day and age. for goodness sake...old love! if you go check out good charlottle or green day you'll probably see a million comments on a million different songs, yet "old love" by eric clapton, now, has 4. |

i definately agree with jhalmeida. i think it's pretty clear that this song is not about a girl, but rather the devil's danfruff, the white lady, booger sugar, coke. in any instance, this is a tight groove. going from No Sugar Tonight into the New Mother Nature. good stuff |

this is a good song and america is a good band. i think the fact that they don't get a whole lot of recognition may be a good thing. or at least a result of a good reason. they are a simple band. they didn't have all the bells and whistles and glam and sparkles. just some cool guys making some cool tunes. |

ohh boy. there are some pretty interesting thoughts about the song's meaning in here. i'm not sure what it means, i'm not even sure that i really care. i think "let down" is one of the best songs i've ever heard. i have not once listened to it and not gotten chills. its very refreshing to have bands like radiohead these days. i usually stick to bands from back in the day (pink floyd, zeppelin, grateful dead, etc) because they're good bands who make good music. in a day and age where green day and good charlottle are considered good music...its just refreshing to still have music like the music created by radiohead. i've said my piece :o) |
