Sorry for this comment being so shallow but... That's just plain wrong. |

Well the first verses seem to me that it's about a break up: Like I said Leave your baggage at the back door I'm leaving you The way I think it should be They're relationship is falling apart because they're always fighting, and can't work things out: We're always Pulling into spaces that we can't back out of Starting fights We can't talk our way out of them He's not the one who's usually starting the fights, but he is this time: How does it feel to be on the receiving end of this one? He's saying that the bulk of the relationship is falling on him and that the outcome of what's going to happen is going to be because of his actions: I'm half way there and it's all on me This is what I get for wanting more This is the way it has to be Dancing on all these changes So I'll walk around with this rope in my hands So I'll tie it around and around I'll tie me down ( not sure of the meaning of the rope and tying himself down.. possibly so he can't cause anymore damage than he already has?) He wants to leave her, she thinks that she was the one that put the most into the relationship: I'll fantasize of being manic And leaving us behind In your eyes You were the one that tried He feels that they accept each other, which is why they are still, together but they obviously fight a lot, although he still wants to give it another chance: Acceptance is what holds us here And you my dear are the one I fear tonight We'll try just one more time The moment when anything could happen, and things can go any way in the relationship: This is the moment that we all live fore Are you ready? He wants to know how to get through the problems in the relationship, without either of them having to compromise or be hurt. I THINK he's feeling that she doesn't really care if he has to compromise or if he's hurt, becuase they're so far apart at this point: You think so loud it hurts my ears I want to know how to get through this Without choking I can't feel you You're so far from me Great ending to the song, repeating that what he does now is critical and it could mean the relationship: I'm half way there and it's all on me OK! So that's my take on things. Love this band =) |
