On the LAMENTATIONS (Live @ Shepherd's Bush DVD)Mikael says this is a "dark and evil" song.So I think it is about killing someone/something in your life that you held dear.I don't know about the abortion thing ;I don't think you would refer to a fetus as a disease or not. |

This is one of my favorite L.C. songs ;I really like the way the music loops wihout a begining or end.Senzafine means (without end) and the person in the song sounds like someone who is trying to break free of their life or destiny and the male voice sounds like an maleviolent force fighting against the wiil of female voice. |

This is about Opeth songs in general;I always wondered if the clean and harsh vocals were suppose to be two different entities.Could they a first person and a demon/evil force or a first person and their conscience.Taking that as a theory this song sounds like someone going into a depression/death spiral.You don't have to tke images of death and murder at face value in lyrics just like dark poems by POE and others. |

This song reminds me of 9-11, it was recorded before the event, but the images of dust swirling and suicide almost get into the heads of the pilots and others on the planes.If you reverse the 1:19 to 911 and take the opposite veiw of the event it is like an omen.DO NOT PISSED OFF I AM JUST SHOWING ANOTHER WAY OF LOOKING AT THE SONG.Besides you sould be a Doom/Death/Goth metal fan anyway. |
