I'm holding the insert to St. Elsewhere in my hand right now, and the correct lyrics are indeed "up scour". By the way, this album is mind-blowing. It is but the fourth album I give a perfect 10 to. Seeing as the entire album hovers around the themes of mental illness and suicide, my guess is that this song is about Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. The rituals and neuroses that plague the obsessive-compulsive often require strict compliance...: "Tailored and tapered couture to the curb Demanding the attention that it does deserve Fabrics for the forecast of the day I admit it Everything is fitted to fall in Feng Shui" And exacting specifications...: "And everything I say is calculated appropriated Written and arrange in Feng Shui" Demand of those around the person who has OCD...: "And your welcome to stay But even your company must complement The Feng shui" And are difficult to overcome...: "A flow as subtle as a summer breeze Like the whispering winds and the The talking trees Too big to be boxed in it bobs and weaves It evolves it solves it gives and receives" Not to mention the fact that there's a similarity between the mainstays of OCD and Feng Shui. They both involve order and placement. |
