I saw the Russian Futurists in a tiny bar in Newport Kentucky during their support of The Weight's On Wheels. There were probably 10 people in attendance. When they finished playing this song, besides some sparse clapping, it went silent, so I yell from the bar: "Hey what do you guys say we strap ourselves in for a bad trip on the Gravitron eh? YEAH 2-3-4!" The female keyboardist replied: "Hey that's my part!". It changed the entire night. I don't believe they thought anyone actually came to see them. Also... spoken "comma" is awesome, Gravitron reference is awesome, this song is 3 minutes of timeless. |

Even though the original Suffer Some demo meddles a bit in the middle it crushes the neutered version on the Strays album. The lyrics don't seem as contrived either. If I get the time I'll throw the demo lyrics up here or perhaps start a new page since 2/3's of the lyrics are different. |

Im not sold on that first line. Molt of the Sun... Mold of the Sod... I have listened to it a few times over just now and it sounds less like anything each time. regardless, Im hearing a "s" at the beginning of that last word and that is almost certain. |

| I see three glaring mistakes in the lyrics without having the song playing right now. "Like a brown bird nesting in a Texaco sign"... probably just an omission but the missing lyric in "Then the world turned, (time) got away" and finally "Now she finds her consolation in the stardust of a bong" Otherwise.. right on :) | |

I also loved this song when the album came out. Too bad Jack Lahana came along on the "Everybody Hertz" EP and took this song to an untouchable level. I cant even listen to the original anymore without craving.... "smoking, drinking, smelling, kissing, spanking, touching, licking, sucking, f***ing, B**ches in the city" It is a shame Jack Lahana has done nothing to support this masterpiece. |
