| It's both. Juneau (from Casually Dressed) is the remade version of Juno (from Between Order and Model). | |

"and "fix [you] in 45" (which is about the length of this album)" Triple entendre there - 45 mins (length of a therapy session), 45RPM (vinyl single), and the length of an album. "When they say that they got mediocre reviews, "threes across the board" they aren't lashing out at critics, they're making fun of YOU for buying their album. Yes, FOB is that cynical." Hm, I disagree with that, but pretty much agree with the rest. It's supposed to be more like "Fuck you critics, you were wrong" |

I think you've got the first line of the second verse right, so I now hear it as [Second Verse] The only thing I haven't done yet is die, and it's me and my press what are only after the lie, Crowds are won, and lost and won again but all our hearts beat, For the dead heart |

Ack, final version: [Jay-Z Intro] Yeah, what you critics said would never happen, We dedicate this album to anybody people say couldn't make it, To the fans that held us down until everybody came around, Welcome, it's here! [Verse 1] Last summer we took threes across the board But by fall we were a cover story Now in stores Make us poster boys from the scene but we are not writing our acceptance speech I found the safest place to keep all of our mistakes Every dotcom's refreshing for a journal update [Chorus] So long live the car-crash hearts, Cry on the couch 'til the poets come to life, Fix me in 45 [Repeat Chorus] [Verse 2] I can take your problems away with a nod and a wave of my hand, 'cause that's just the kind of boy that I am The only thing I haven't done yet is gone and it's me and my press(?) what are only after the lie, Crowds are won, and lost and won again but all our hearts beat, For the dead heart [Chorus] [Chorus] [Bridge] Long live the car-crash hearts, long live the car-crash hearts, Long live the car-crash hearts, long live the car-crash hearts, Long live the car-crash hearts, Cry on the couch 'til the poets come to life, Fix me in 45 (laugh) [Jay-Z outro] Yo, F.O.B. - Lets go. |

Sorry for the 3rd post, but here is what I think the final lyrics are to this song. I'm not 100% sure about the last verse (the "press" line is a bit of a guess) and the "'til" in the chorus seems to disappear, but other than that I'm fairly certain. [Jay-Z Intro] Yeah, what you critics said would never happen, We dedicate this album to anybody who say couldn't make it, To the fans that held us down until everybody came around, Welcome, it's here! [Verse 1] Last summer we took threes across the park, But by fall we were a cover story, Now in stores Make us posterboys from the scene but we are not writing our acceptance speech Our found the safest place to keep all of our mistakes Every dotcom's refreshing for a journal update [Chorus] So long live the car-crash hearts, Cry on the couch 'til the poets come to life, Fix me in 45 [Repeat Chorus] [Verse 2] I can take your problems away, with a nod and a wave of my hand, 'cause that's just the kind of boy that I am The only thing I've haven't done yet is gone, and it's me and my press(?) what are only after the lie, Crowds are won, and lost and won again but all hearts beat, For the dead heart" [Chorus] [Chorus] [Bridge] Long live the car-crash hearts, long live the car-crash hearts, Long live the car-crash hearts, long live the car-crash hearts, Long live the car-crash hearts, long live the car-crash hearts, Cry on the couch 'til the poets come to life, Fix me in 45 [Jay-Z outro] Yo, FOB. Let's go. |

Last verse attempt which I think is correct: "I can take your problems away, with a nod and a wave of my hand 'cause that's just the kind of boy that I am The only thing I've haven't done yet is gone, and it's me and my press(?) what are only after the lie, Crowds are won, lost and won again but all hearts beat, for the dead heart" Sounds right to me |

Yeah, this is a self-referential song, and the best on the new album which is hohum IMO. "Last summer we took threes across the board" is a reference to all their reviews, "by fall" they were the cover stories in the press and poster boys for the "scene" - alternative Press et al for the, well, whatever FOB are these days. Refers to their to fame from nothing to being huge. "Long live the car-crash heart" referring to their own success, "Cry on the couch till the poets come to life" is about music and spilling all your problems into a song, "fix me in 45" is a double meaning - referring to 45RPM vinyl singles (think Dead On Arrival - "side one" etc) and a therapy session. "I can take your problems away, with a nod and a wave of my hand 'cause that's just the kind of boy that I am.." Referring to their celebrity and the way they're idolised I can't really hear the last verse yet... |

I like this song. It describes stuff I can relate to. I believe this is the "story" Verse 1: Girl phones guy saying that she still loves him, but she's already broken his heart (by cheating on him), so he tells her to fuck off, but knows the situation well and that the same thing will happen again. Chorus: Goes out on the town and drowns his sorrows. If they meet, he'll say that they're still friends and go and make his excuses ("I think I'll have myself a beer") Verse 2: He phones her back to say he loves her too, but the guy has convinced her otherwise, and he's now even more upset. Bridge: Self-explanitory, and knows he fucked up and thinks at least next time he'll know what to say and do and thinks of her and finds it hell...but then she phones him again, and she says she'll cheat again with the narrator and not tell her new boyfriend... |

Hey, hey, hey, Mr. Hangman, Go get your rope Your daughters weren't careful, I fear that I am a slippery slope Now even if I lay my head down at night After a day I got perfectly right She won't know... She won't know... (one two three four, one.. two) So play a little careless, you gotta contend And you can't blame your mother, She's trying not to say I was your worst mistake And I wish that I could tell you right now, I love you But it looks like I won't be around So you won't know... You won't know... So you won't know... You won't know... So believe in me, believe them You think I'll let you down Well, I won't They can fire everything they've got and when you think I'm sunk I will float on ...and die I am fine to put your gun to my life And know I'm scared it won't fire right You won't know... You won't know... You won't know... You won't know... You're never going to feel as full as we felt So let's go outside and we'll play William Tell Taking your time drawing a bead I'll stand as still as you need 'Cause you're so good at talking smack, you heart attack But you're the apple of my eye anyway The smile on your face, It's on your plate... It's on a silver plate So they say, They say in heaven There's no husbands and wives On the day that I show up They'll be completely out Of their forgiveness supplies And I can't use the telephone To tell you that I'm dead and gone So you won't know You won't know... You won't know... Yeah, You won't know... (go, go, go) Yeah, You won't know... (go, go, go) Yeah, You won't know... Yeah, You won't know... Yeah, You won't know... You won't... |
