i could be completely off, but these lyrics seem to portray the relationship between two best friends. he falls in love with this girl he's really close to, but she's a bit of a manipulative slut. when she has no one, she acts like she loves him. he's begging her not to leave him again, but he knows there's no use prolonging the inevitable. ronnie day is no doubt incredibly talented, but goddamn, his lyrics lack subtlety. "His room smells like crying"?? lol sorry, but i almost laughed at that. he's not even trying to rhyme it w/ anything, so why not make it something like "the scent of stale tears" or SOMETHING? [haha & i wrote this right before i read what daystoforget wrote... great stuff] his songs are really good, but the theme of "jamie broke my heart" gets really old really fast. someone this talented has GOT to have a little more depth than this... |
