listening to this song even the first time i thought sexuality was involved, so i went to look at the lyrics and listened to the song at the same time and i thought of a one night stand. "The guiltiness that started Soon as the other part had stopped" made me think of after the one night stand the desire to get out of there as fast as you can. maybe not being so drunk anymore and realizing it was a mistake. "Desperately trying to stimulate what it was that was alright Three quarters of an hour ago" maybe its too out right stated but i thought orgasm, and just being turned off all of a sudden, which accounts for him wanting to leave, but not being able to and her just trying to make something out of nothing. "He's nearing the brink but he thinks first The parallel universe perhaps could be the perfect scene" again that made me think orgasm. and that he isnt really interested, but he wants to escape so hes trying to decide which escape to take. maybe i just interpreted this competely wrong to you, but i like that idea. |

theres so much going on in this song. i really like it a lot. "troubles all around me, day by day" i love that part in between everything else. i think its pretty easy to understand, but id like to see some people discuss it more. i see it about the end of a relationship, and he still misses her, despite everything and he cant stay with her for some reason, but it seems like he can move on easier but shes still clinging on. my favorite part: "Director left the set, but nobody told the actors So she's still acting as if we scheduled a practice And my soundtrack is compromising her theatrics " and this: "I'm returning this bleeding hearts club membership card 'Cause I want no motherfucking part of it" |

this is a really deep song. its also really pretty. "If only, if only The woodpecker sighs The bark on the trees was as soft as the skies As the wolf waits below, hungry and lonely He cries to the mo-oo-n If only, if only" i love when he sings this part, its like magic. its a really interesting song. i wish more people would comment so there could be more debate about this song. |

this is a really strong song. the beat and the tune is really nice. i like what it says about war and what this particular soldier is saying. Machismo means: 1 : a strong sense of masculine pride : an exaggerated masculinity 2 : an exaggerated or exhilarating sense of power or strength "I wanna put glue down your gun Imagine pointing that thing at your son" i really like that part and it kinda reminds me of the general by dispatch at the part when it talks about seeing their mothers. in war when you humanize the other people it makes you wonder why your doing such hurtful things to people who have family and friends and loved ones just like you. |
