As for all the debates about Bono being so rich but still lobbying for poor people in Africa, if you read his book by Michka Ayassas (something like that), he explains it. He admits he looks ridiculous, but doesn't try to look like a philanthropist. He says that as soon as you start losing money (or giving it), you start loving it and then you become a slave to it. I personally think that logic is a little wacked, but I love Bono and I don't really care what he does with the money he's earned from creating unbelievable music. |

That's interesting, kyle, I never thought of the Aslan thing. I adore this song especially the line "And love is a crying baby
Mama warned you not to shake". Sam Beam has such great lyrics, they're so different every line and hard to memorize just by listening because they're so intricate. But it's better that way. |

I don't think this is really about Jesus. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry
That life is anxious, life is mean" gives the impression that Sufjan's sorry for whoever's birthday it is and I don't know why Sufjan would want to give Jesus shoes. I always imagined it as Sufjan at a birthday party when he was little and that he had had a fight with the birthday kid but now he's been forgiven. And I love the line "You're like a bird that will not be." I don't understand it, but it gives me a feeling of a really high-maintenance person, but Sufjan still likes them. |

As for the word "creased", I always just thought it meant like a wrinkle. You know, like pleats in pants. Or when you fold a paper, you are creasing it, you're making it sharp at a point. Maybe it means that the old woman "sharpened" the misfit; she upset him, ruffled him, or caused him to bring out whatever caused conflict in him. |
