Ahhh... The song that started it all. Good Job- especially for a first song, although the version that appeared on Pretty Hate Machine was like the millionth incarnation of the song. Anyway this song is clearly about a bad drug addiction ending in suicide- some of you people are insanely, retardedly stupid. Maybe you guys should see the video. |

Wow... what to say? Absolutely fuckin' amazing. What is it about? Well it's basically about being an outcast in society. Not sharing the mainstream views of a ridiculously stupid society... religion, politics, sports, media, sex, money, business, health, humor, friends, style, music, love, hate and most of all- people. When you don't fit in to the mould of society... you become an outcast. The more ways that you stray from the norm, the more of an outcast you become. Some people lash out at society when: -the world rejects them for who they are -the world "throws them away" -the world never gives them a chance and then the world... has to pay (sound familiar? just read a newspaper) |

Every single NIN album always ends with: a) A heavy climax that brings closure to the album/era with distinct sense of helplessness. b) And then a final slower epilogue song. Beside you in time is the "a"... the climax and Right Where it Belongs is "b"... the epilogue. This song has a sense of urgency and despair to it. For the full effect... lay down, smoke a big joint and just take it all in. Nice trip. |

This song is by far the best song off of All That Could Have Been. It's sister track is The Great Below. This song is one of the saddest NIN songs. It has a deep sense of Closure (for whatever it may be to different people). It seems to sadly bring the Fragile Era to a close. For me... this song reminds me of being caught in the middle of a blizzard, completely all alone and on my own in an empty vastness where all i see is white. Snow coming down so hard that i can hardly see... and yet somehow... peaceful. |

This song is first song on With Teeth. With Teeth basically brings NIN full circle. After The Fragile NIN's future wasn't looking so good. No future NIN album would ever be able to live up The Fragile. Reznor himself even admitted he wasn't sure about NINs fate. After a production as epic as The Fragile, there really was no choice but to make a more simple catchy album like Pretty Hate Machine which is what With Teeth is. This brings NIN full circle. All the Love in the World is a creepy and catchy song that introduces fans to the new album. |

This song is the "Warm Place" of the Fragile Era. It is beautiful. There is so much emotion in this song... get high in bed during a snowstorm and you'll trip out. You'll feel like you're completely all alone in the middle of a vast ocean just riding the waves... Completely... at peace. |

This song is absolutely beautiful. For me this song represents a break or a "safe" place (whereever that may be- it could be in your mind), an escape from all the fucking bullshit in life. On The Downward Spiral, A Warm Place is that safe place or sunny place where the dude in the story can just have some peace after 9 tracks of misery. It's only short bit of peace because everything goes to hell as soon as it's over... with Eraser. |
