Brendan Benson – Feel Like Myself Lyrics 19 years ago
I love the line "You'll eat your hat, I promise you that..." Brendan Benson is so amazing and talented. I love this whole album.

Ozma – Natalie Portman Lyrics 19 years ago
The lyrics are right, they don't say "She has been developing..." it says "This has been developing..." which implies that the problem has been developing, in otherwords, since she was born (and If I'm not mistaken, Daniel Brummel also born the same year.) So yeah...

The Walkmen – Rue The Day Lyrics 19 years ago
To me he's just been introduced to someone he knew years ago and all of a sudden all these memories come back and now that he's thinking about it he can't stop thinking about it. It's so crazy when that happens. I think The Walkmen and Hamilton have turned this universal but also under-rated feeling into an amazing song.

The Walkmen – We've Been Had Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is just talking about images and what you're expected to look like in order to "fit in" and how now that he's older, he knows that's not important at all and he's able to laugh off how naive and ignorant he was back when he would just follow the crowd. Yeah, I don't know.

Death Cab for Cutie – Champagne from a Paper Cup Lyrics 19 years ago
This song is so cynical, I love it.

It's pretty clear, he's having a crappy time but he's waiting around for someone and can't really leave so this is his oh so sarcastic take on some kind of ghetto party or something.

Death Cab for Cutie – Blacking Out the Friction Lyrics 19 years ago
I think people read too much into lyrics. I think it's pretty simple.
I think a friend or someone he cares about is moving away, somewhere cold... thus "i don't mind the weater..." but he's trying to explain that, just because you move doesn't mean things will necessarily be different... "...making changes to your window's view will give a new perspective"
I think he's saying that he supports this person moving away just not for the reasons they're moving. Maybe it has something to do with "Why You'd Want to Live Here" ... who knows?

Death Cab for Cutie – Amputations Lyrics 19 years ago
I always thought the speech in the song was a sort of sermon... I heard it actually has nothing to do with the rest of the song it just sounded good when they put it together. They do that in President of What as well.

Death Cab for Cutie – A Movie Script Ending Lyrics 19 years ago
I think this song is about visiting an old hometown and realizing everything's exactly the same, just older. And he's talking about leaving, driving on the highway back to what he now calls home, and he's relieved to be leaving a place he resents maybe. I don't know. You guys all have better takes on this one than me. That's what I get from it, though.
