Did anyone notice that there is a rhythm that sounds like ice cracking in the background? Totally stunning effect. |

This song reminds me of my 21st birthday except he never showed up. This is a song for anyone has ever been stood up or made to wait for some one they love. |

Did anyone think upon first listening and not looking at the lyrics that Oh La sounded a lot like Oh Love? With that coloring in mind it sort of changes how the song can be interpreted. Although I realize that the group of friends interpretation is probably way more spot on. The way I took it was one lover sort of making a plea to the other one not to give up on the relationship that there was still so much to learned more experiences to be had, and that even if the whole world is sort of coming down against them if they stick together they'll learn and grow together? |

This song is soo kick ass. I have listened to it so many times and it still floors me every time! All of the shakespeare refrences specifically to Romeo and Juliet, Romeo's dying speech. And "The Rest is Silence" is from Hamlet. The refrences to Hamlet can be found threaded through the entire show most blatently in "What a Piece of Work is Man". These refrences really help to deepen the questions possed by the show and hit the point home :-) |

"How am I supposed to be/ I don't have my thorns now.." The thorns made her, her. She is questioning how, this person in her life would want her tame, when the thorns are what gave her personality. She is throwing it back at this person what they want to tame, they can't because they too would be disatisfied because she would no longer be her. does this make sense? I think it may have to do with rebellion too in a way. |

this song to me symbolizes a break up, and ultimatly being let down, even though he himself is speaking of not letting the other person down. He is remembering the sweeter times, and the hurt it brings while remembering their "song" and the sparks was the light that was once in their life that like a spark faded away. idk that's what I got. |
