He wants his music to be open to everybody. They are so OBVIOUSLY influenced by GOD and the Bible and CS Lewis and all of those things/beings believe in Jesus. This song has a few meanings but then again, SO DOES THE BIBLE VERSE. |

When people speak, can we hear the words with our ears? Is there a "sense" that I'm missing? Music is just as powerful lyrically as it is musically. I'm sure that people in the 60's and 70's didn't care about words or what they were writing, it was ALL about the music? WORDS ARE MUSIC TOO! Our voices are just another instrument and a much MORE POWERFUL ONE than ANY other musical instrument.
And btw, Dustin's stuff is SO OBVIOUSLY about GOD half the time, I think its definitely cool that you like them regardless, but to say it doesn't matter "as long as it sounds good" is completely ignorant and disrespectful to the band itself. A band is identified much more by their words than their sound. Without WORD I believe Thrice wouldn't exist. |

OK we had a large misunderstanding. I simply thought you were "promoting" that video (and in a way you were) but you were just saying "here, check this out, think a little bit" and i completely understand that. I would simply suggest that if you "have no idea as to what you believe in" then you shouldn't post video links to video's that claim to know exactly what happened because people jump to conclusions and Im sorry i made that mistake, I'm not saying its bad to post videos like those but people jump to conclusions and I'm sorry for that. Now as for Christianity, I am not Catholic so I do not really follow all of that. See you being in a different country is good in the way that you said, you get to view the whole 9/11 thing from an "unclouded" perspective. But you being there also gives you the perspective of "if you believe in jesus, you are catholic or you follow all of that" and im not saying you were saying that for 100%, but it is what you said. I DO NOT believe in taking peoples money and I in no way approve of that. Christianity is much different in America, so much in fact that trying to explain it, from one small view, would take forever and people would undoubtably disagree with me, but lets just say that most "christ followers" don't really follow the pope.
I respect your opinion though and im sorry if it didn't seem that way.
I can just say that being a christian in America is very hard sometimes, in that it is frustrating how the church is run sometimes, and how sometimes it cannot be biblical at all, that being said, it doesn't take away from my belief, but only lights a bigger fire because I want to start a change. What are you people whining about? This is EXACTLY what Thrice would have, should have, and did do. They ALWAYS write songs about current affairs and what is going on in their hearts and minds. This is one of the best songs on the entire project almost just because of the lyrics.

Now people spin this the wrong way all of the time, and heres why. Just because we believe in GOD doesn't mean he doesn't want us to help each other, who cares if the song really isn't about GOD too much (i dont really think it is either) we still want justice. It's not a sin to want Justice, in fact i think Jesus would want the same thing. Gosh this song is absolutely epic. The blb is right, this song is one of the most direct Thrice songs to date. It is ALLL about the lies that were told to us after 9/11 and how still, we act like "who care about the truth". I feel exactly the same as Dustin and Thrice, don't we all want answers? Watch ONE 9/11 "conspiracy" video on the internet and you will most definitely find appalling facts (if you haven't watched yet) and though all may not be true, there is just WAY too much evidence proving that the USA was up to a whole bunch. Personally, I've seen a few, but "Loose Change" is one that made me completely re-think the U.S. and I almost had to "grow up" after i watched it. I was a senior in High School and it completely changed my life (loose change). Anyways, enough arguing and bickering, take the song for what it is, and do NOT be ignorant my friends. |

I agree that the verses have to do with that doc. on the apallo. The verses are awesome, but the chorus however does have a christian feel. I believe Dustin wrote this song about the documentary, but in writing the verses he thought about space and things, which christians believe was created by god, and he threw in that great chorus. "We are children of a light that never dims" is in my opinion about being a christian and being a follower of Jesus. And "Stand ready and tall, reflect the light" is also in my opinion, about being a christian and sharing Gods love with others, because that of course is the sole purpose of christians on earth. That last line give me goosebumps, it is very awesome. Dustin just gave another great song with more meaning than what he said, because to him and others, its very easy to interpret the other meaning to this and many others off vheissu; that he is a christian and he wants to share god with all of us. |

"atheisim is stupid" has it dead on. Although there are direct quotes from a C.S. Lewis poem, they are christian quotes nevertheless. The lines "Heaven sent reply, however small. Evidence of life beyond these walls" is obviously about a prayer or a request of which was answered, or just god showing himself, giving the prisoner hope. And the lines "Look to the day the Earth will shake. These weathered walls will fall away" is about that prisoner and his faith, referring to what John the prophet predicted. |

I too believe this song has to do with the struggles of some christians. I agree with stealingyesterday. When Dustin says "but we've learned that if we'll Open the wounds and share them then soon they start to heal" I think hes talking about when you have sinned, sometimes you keep it inside, but when you open up and confess to god, you feel much better. |
