I'm fairly certain, after a few listens, that this song is taking the piss. The chorus "You know that I love you There's no one above you I said it the last time But this is the last time" is blatantly self aware. The overall tone of the song indicates to me that it's all a big joke, the amazing thing is, that some people actually say to their partner "Yeah I love you, I'm sorry about sleeping around." Has to be a joke. |

Beautiful song. For me, the sentiment "don't be afraid of something new," sums up the song. Don't let the past dictate the future and don't be afraid of building something new. Things may not have worked out, but don't let that stop you from having a new start, something better and stronger. It's almost like he's saying "I know I hurt you, but there is something going on that's stronger than your pain." That's just me anyways. |
