Seems like the song could have a few meanings. The one im thinking it is is about a guy (or a member of the band) who wants to get revenge on a girlfriend who broke up with him. I thinking the Just your mother's ho line is refering to why they broke up, the mother might have set the girlfriend up with someone else, thus causing the breakup and making the guy in the song want revenge. |

I think that the lyric snowblind is refering to cocaine, thus making my meaning for the song, a song lamenting the loss of some a person in S.O.A.D. loved(the loss being for whatever reason, be it death or a break-up) and they can remember that person though what ever they do, even though the moutains of cocaine. |

Amazing song, amazingly dirty too, but its Zeppelin they can get away with it.
The displaced snare beat ( on the "and" of 2 as opposed to 2) helps to give this song an amazing feel, it just wouldnt have cut it being a straight ahead "2 & 4" rocker. Amazing song, well played all around. |

The meaning of the song seems to be to try and pull old and new fans away form punk and to them. And the song really shows that in the years Zeppelin was together, they never lost a step. I love how to song goes from a blistering pace while Plant is singing, "Ya know, Ya know, Ya know, reminicent of the speed of Communication Breakdown, and then a flawless transition to a slower tempo during. |

I'm going to guess that the grandson on Tom's knee line, is refering to who the speaker of the song is (yes, I know its not poetry, but it seems aplicable here). This would have been an amazing additition to Led Zeppelin III, i think. Its feel reminds me of Bron-Y-Aur Stomps's, and I would have loved to hear this before or after that song. But going to the song its self.
The drum beat is quite entrancing for me, the 16th note pattern played on the snare drum adds to the over vibe of the song, its eaisly in my top 10 Led Zeppelin favorite songs. |

As a drummer myself, I find this song to be amazing. I found Moby Dick to be one the the best solos out there, but this far surpased it for me. The ability to have not just a typical drum beat, but add in melody in the form of the other percusive instruments played during this. All though Page derserves credit for this track as well (he helped arrange it while Plant and his wife were away in morroco right?) it showcases Bohnam's skill behind the kit, but also his creativity. This track helps make Coda an amazing tribute to an iconic drummer. |

I heard, from a guitarist friend of mine (and suspected a bit myself) that this song was the song that sparked Moby Dick?? My friend told me that the guitar is in the same scale or something to that effect, and I remember reading about a song that was a less evolved form of Moby Dick, that wasn't a drum solo, but was written by Bohnam about the woman in his life at the time, some of the lyrics in this song could work for that effect. |
