| Alexz Johnson – As the music plays Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
To me, this song is about a girl who's breaking free and moving on in her life. The song was played on the series finale of Instant Star where Jude is moving to London to pursue her music career. She's leaving behind everything, including her family, friends, and fiancee. She knows that as much as she loves them, she is ultimately all about her music and she will be okay 'as long as the music plays.' This song is called "The Music" btw. :) |

| Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think as already stated this is a metaphor about love/romance using the shipwreck and the story of the drowned sailor to tell the other story. For instance..."It was a quarter past four in the morning When the storm broke our second anchor line Four months at sea Four months of calm seas To be pounded in the shallows off the tip of Montauk Point" Yes it's a shipwreck that is anchored, and after four months everything goes terribly wrong and the ship is pounded into the rocks. The relationship side of it is that the Ship represents the whole relationship and they had four months where nothing terrible happened. Allowing us to assume something happened prior to that because the "second anchor line" broke. The main reason why I posted though was because of the last lines. "A funeral keeps both of us apart (Washed up on the beach) You know that you are not alone I need you like water in my lungs (This is the end)" The sailor in the story is clearly drowning, but the person in the relationship is metaphorically drowning and feels numb/dead. That numbness gives him a barrier to stay away from the person that hurt him allowing him to realize "this is the end" Whereas the sailor is accepting death as he is drowning after being beaten against the rocks. I don't know if that's been suggested in the 300 other entries, but now i suppose someone will get the thinking that the lover killed himself off a pier, or whatever! thoughts? |

| I didn't even think The Beauty in Ugly could get better until I heard this version. Jason should pull a J.Lo and make an album in Spanish. ;) | |

| Jesse McCartney – Just So You Know Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
I'm not sure if I'm right, but I think this song is about a guy who's in love with a girl that's taken, and he wants to let go of her, but he can't. "I thought you should know I tried my best to let go, but I don't want to." |
