jenny said at the last concert i was at, that this song is about the pacific palisades, not the other one, ahaha, i mean, yeah, she lives in LA so basically. i love this song, probably my favorite rilo kiley song ever. the EOAT has got to be the best RK album ever, as well. this song is amazing to me its about how we grow older and change and so doesn everything else, but they seem slower and older and how the world is so big but so small and everything is so random but makes so much sense thats just my 2 cents |

| i KNEW it wasnt about cutting and stuff, and yes, i have the same terrrible habit as amanda, and yes the fact that she wrote this kick ass song about it is awesome, but honesty it is about self mutilation, because the habit of biting your nails and the skin around your nails may be painful, but even if it isn't it is still mutilating yourself for some form of pleasure or release, a bad habit, but at least ya know we're not going to bleed to death from it | |

| this song is not about anal sex. i mean the only line that would suggest that is the dirtiest clean line, but this whole, "take it slow, take it easy on me" is about a relationship and her emotions, maybe she's had really crappy relationships and doesn't want to rush in to the next one? when a person is emotional broken its hard to get back on the horse, so she doesnt want to ride the wild stallion(no pun intended) right after getting bucked off what she thought was a trained horse and she really likes horses (sorry about the stupid horse metaphor) | |

| I also think it is about an eating disorder, or ay least some sort of other disorder, or depression. I know that this is an early song, and i also know both jenny and blake have had not so great of childhoods, but some of her lines, where they might be talking aboout how they feel, or drugs, or eating disorders or depression or all of the above, i think it is a very difficult song to analyze, like it might be social commentary, but the fact that she uses her own know name and sings it, doesnt make me think that | |

i agree with ewings73, i think the person broke up/ knows she has to break up with a boyfriend that doesnt love her anymore, even if she was still in love with him, but she is wondering why he doesnt love her anymore "give me a reason" or something to that extent, and she still loves him/wants to be with him even if he doesnt love her or it could be she is with someone/friends with someone who is putting up a front "you're fooling no one" and she is trying to help them with whatever they are going through, but they are so closed up and they dont want help "why are you so far i'm cramming for nothing i'm pushing on buttons tell me why" and "give me a reason" and the parts when it says "give my beat box a squeeze bring me back to life get me off of my feet" she could be singing as the person she is trying to help or it could be reverse, she could be the person, singing about her situation with an issue, and most of the song is sung as the person trying to help her i dont know thats just what i think and the lyrics def need to be fixed, its socks, not myself-i think that is pretty important :) |
