It's a parody of pop artists songs that have no meaning to them and are shallow and pointless. That's why there are all those blue heads, those are celebrities, all that stuff they do is all random and pointless, just like them. And the competion winner is about all those stupid competitions they have which are also pointless.
Reject False Icons: reject pop artists and pop culture. Fits in with the rest of the song.
Read Return of the Ogre and you'll see!!! |

How is Gorillaz ripping off Green Day? Just because the name of the song is similar? Gorillaz are more creative than Green Day. Green Day are a bunch of whiny, nasal-sounding emo boys who are really pop artists, not punk rock. They spend way too much time on MTV.
Punk was not about how Green Day turned away from punk. Punk was making fun of Punk rock music, anyone can see that. I'm sure they weren't even thinking of Green Day.
You're basically admitting that Green Day are sellouts. They are manufactured sycophants that don't deserve all the fame and love they get. And I like how you're getting mad at people for "acting shitty to Green Day, it's such a gay attitude to take" And then you go off iinsulting Gorillaz-what a gay attitude to take.
I've never understood people who go on other bands pages just to tell the fans how much they suck. Why are you on the Gorillaz page then? Go back to Green Day if you don't like Gorillaz |

Yes, I agree I think the whole Get the cool shoeshine is because Noodle didn't even know english-that part is totally meaningless. I'm assuming she's just repeating some phrase she hear somewhere. |

Kids are growing up too fast in a world filled with violence-perhaps they will become violent too as a result of exposure. Kids only act out the things they see. |

It's an awesome song. I think it's about innocence, Noodle's windmill contrasts with 2D's dirty tower. 2D wishes to escape the evil and misleadine corparation of Feel Good and fly away with Noodle on her pure Island. As he is not a child he isn't able to get away and stays in the real world, the adult world where the world is not so pure and innocent. |

This is about the war in Iraq, almost a subtle protest against the war and Bush. "Just a pawn so he can advance". The soldiers think of better times when they could dance.

Yeah right. This song is not about mastubation! You're thinking too much into it. Noodle is young, thet wouldn't have her be in a song that's vulgar like that! Sure it's okay for 2D to sing about drugs, and for Murdoc to have all the sexual themes, but this is Noodle.
This song is about having a good time, doing what you want, dancing to the music-it's just a plain old happy dance song. Noodle's dancing around her room in the whole video, having a blast, not caring what anyone else thinks of her dancing, doing what she wants. That's the feeling I get when I hear this song-never did no harm, go for it! Just dance! |

This song is about drugs. Sunshine in a bag? Useless but not for long? It's obvious. And what about-it's all in your head, and all that stuff about percieving with your mind? Drugs. |

This song is making fun of Punk music. It is a parody of punk music. The lyrics are trying to be stereotypical punk lyrics. This song's sole purpose is to convey the disdain the Gorillaz creators have for punk rock |

I think it is about technology, about how everyone is looking for the latest technology, everyone is looking to the future-what is happening in the future. We are all looking forward rather than looking at what is happening to us right now. Living more in the tomorrow than in the today. There will be consequences for that. |
