| Wolfsheim – The Sparrows and the Nightingales Lyrics | 5 years ago |

I always thought it is about a lost german soldier in WW2. He constantly cites 2 sides of life, one at war and one at peacetime, the fuhrer that sent him to war is absent, he is asking his loved one to keep a light on so he can return home. Consider also the "God is on your side" with the Nazi "gott mit uns". Basically, it is a reflection on the dark past of Germany and how any common person got caught in it. |

| And One – Techno Man Lyrics | 12 years ago |

"Douglas... a singer doesn't have to look like Adolf / to be on stage acting very cool" I don't kown, but it immediately thought of Douglas Mcarthy from Nitzer Ebb. Very agressive sounding, shouting in almost military style... |

Wow, so long looking for these lyrics!! I didn't expect to find them sooo detailed. I think the meaning is pretty obvious. I like to relate it to "55566688833" by James Figurine and in part to "The distric sleeps alone tonight" by The Postal Service, and obviously with the name of the album. Communication and distance play a huge role in a love relationship... |

| Metric – Too Little Too Late Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I had a similar idea about the song, she is going to "spend the night" with and old friend to whom she has been attracted from the past. She decides to oversee time and friendship and let herself go and make it happen. It just sex, not a relationship (too little), they have know each other for a long time and probably they know each other too well or they are engaged to others (too late). They know that, "but we don't say no". |

| Casiotone for the Painfully Alone – Holly Hobby Lyrics | 16 years ago |

Well, I might be wrong, but seeing how CFTPA likes to play with lyrics and so on and titles, let's give it a try. I was looking for this song in youtube... and I got this Holly Hobbie cartoon - drawing (after checking out in Wikipedia, it is actually the writer's name, but passed onto the character). I am Spanish (and male) so I have no background on what are the books about, but I guess it is pointing out than the betrayed person in the song is as pretty and naive as this HH looks... Just my two cents. |

| Depeche Mode – Little 15 Lyrics | 16 years ago |

I mostly agree with you, and for me it has always seemed obvious... "She" is the mother of the 15yo, she has sacrificed all her life for him. He is the typical teenager that seems to know better than his parents, but she knows what life really is. When we are that young, we tend to fight our parents thinking they only care about ruining our lives, and only with time we realize they wanted the best for us. The "3 little wishes" part reminds me of stupid I would be towards my mom when I was younger and almost brings me to tears. |

| Agreed, it seems to be directed to Alan. | |
| Emilie Autumn – Gothic Lolita Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
ur_gothic_lolita, You try to look smart when you are the dumbass. This song is not about japanese girls dressing as ridiculous dolls (even if Emilie herself likes dressing out). It is rejecting the cultural image of the Lolita as a sexual icon and stating the real deal: minors who are raped and killed by immoral criminals. The "call off the search - we found her" is the typical end of the story of the abduction of a young girl. |
