I agree that this song is excelent...and that he does kind of personify the child as innocence. But,throughout Century Child, he mentions a cross, and alot of reference to the Bible. Don't know who of you here are Christians, I am kind of and kind of know the Bible...Jesus ate with the sinners, and he saved them, and Jesus was not excepted by all the people as the chosen Mesiah ("Remaining, yet still uninvited")
This song, no doubt, has some reference to the Bible. And then, the last part is what gives me doubt
"Who gave his life not for the world but for me"
Christians believe that Jesus gave his live for us, for ultimate redemption. If this song has relation to the Bible, I'd say the song is about Jesus' mother and father. Heaven Queen being His mother, and Tuomas being his father. But who knows, if you listen to APC, you'd know that this song could have alot of meanings, and that you don't have to be a Christian to write a song about it. |
