| I do believe in God. I just know that this song has nothing to do with God. And fore the record, Chevelle is not, IS NOT a Christian band. | |

Most of you are wrong, some are right about the internal part. This song holds a completely internal meaning. It has nothing to do with Satan or God. You people are convinced almost every Chevelle song has to do with religion. They are not a christian band. This has been a debate for so long. I have been listening to Chvelle for years, and believe when I say I know so much about them it's scary. The song isn't political either. Chevelle does not talk about politics in their music. Pete writes to express HIS feelings and HIS internal suffering/struggles. He even said that with each album he becomes more and more honest with himself, meaning he becomes more aware of his emotions and how to get them down on paper. Anyways. Bend The Bracket. So the water's thickening His collar's pulled up, begin to be aware It's on, that he needs to focus Beyond that man, he brings us a world of pain This means that he is treading water, he is at a struggle with himself and the people around him, sort of trying to be like them, and he is beginning to be aware of his foolish actions. The war is on, too weak to move Call it off, sorry refused He is at a war with himself now. I think he is tyong to find out who he is and what he is all about. So we bend the bracket Shove it down, anything to make it fit It's on, and being foolish won't cover up Exposing them as fakes A bracket is supposed to support things. And now the[his] bracket is bending, and he is no longer able to struggle with himself. He is being foolish, acting like everyone around him, which is exposing him as a fake. So boredom captured another fool Shredding him to bits, it's on And the more we tense up, avoiding pain You'll never learn a thing Once again, he boredome of life and repetition has caught him. It is shredding him to bits, resulting in a struggle with himself. He is never going to learn anything because he tries to avoid all the pain, and ignores it. I hope this helped.... |

WOW. all of you are wrong. I have been a CheVellion for yeaars and YEARS. I know so much about them its scary. Anyways. This song is about the push and pull experience in writing. Writers block kinda. Pete wants to write his own music. His producers want to change everything. He is sick of it. He even said it himself. |

And by the way. CHEVELLE IS NOT A CHRISTIAN BAND, THE MEMBERS ARE CHRISTIAN. So don't think every song has a religious meaning. Hot Christ, give it a rest. This shit has been going on for yeaaarrss, |

Wow. Get the lyrics right! Kudos to tejasvi. Thi song has NOTHING to do with religion. You know how we sometimes say god when we really want something, or something is so good. Example: God this icecream is so good. This song is about lust. lust lust lust . But all Chevelle songs are open to interpretation, as Pete always says. |

| Chevelle – Comfortable Liar Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| Self explanitory. Its about a relationship with someone who constantly lies. This person is so comfortable with lying, that they think they can keep getting away with it. | |
| Chevelle – Another Know It All Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| I have been listening to this band for a very VERY long time. I know what most songs are about. This song has nothing to do with politics. It is sumply about the struggle they experience when making an album. The people working with them think they "know it all". Pete even said this himself. | |

Ok first of all, he lyrics are completely off. I mean come on. If you;re going to post Chevelle lyrics, get them right because all Chevelle songs have amazing lyrics, and we dont want people to interpret them the wrong way. Anyways, I have been listening to Chevelle for a really REALLY long time. This song is basically about meeting a person, and they are the complete opposite of what you expected. It seems Pete expected this person to be nice and down to earth, but it turns out he is the complete opposite, and he is like the devil. High.. upon your You display Good traits though few We found Time alone will tell This disease Keeps holding me down He displays good traits, but he shows few of them. And time alone with this person shows who they really are. The song is pretty much self explanitory. You just have to disect it. :] |
