To me it's a song about a guy that is dating a "user" but knows it. He's just making the most of it as it also benefits him in a physical (or emotional) sense.
Raw Stylus did a good cover of this in the 90s BTW but nothing can beat the withmeister's version. |

to me it's about bumping into a previous partner. Possibly someone that became a one night stand, ships passing in the night, from the lyrics. Although it holds more power if it was about a partner once loved that didn't work out.

It was actually written about Huey's visit to Johnny Depp's club "The Viper Room".
Yes, the D is for Dick. To get appease their UK record label and get UK airplay they convinced them that the D stood for Daimler and that "cooking makes you thinner".
