| In Flames – Gyroscope Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| the gyroscope is a metaphor for unwilling to change | |
| In Flames – Words Within The Margin Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
mikeb's interp follows the theme of this album, could be thinkgin of the different outcomes nad that maybe the way humans ended up in the hive/ jester script transfigured was not the right way.. and for some reason i always found "In the kinetic energy of a moving fist lies a birth-machine for a paralell universe" the energy wasted to throw a punch is the same energy that can be put to use to come up with something incredible...a machine to a different universe but idk...this song has really weird lyrics |

| In Flames – Take This Life Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Its important not to take certain things in In Flames' lyrics literally... anyway, here's what i think with the CORRECT lyrics posted by RagingLunatix from the CD booklet except for rained instead of ruins which was discussed earlier. First off i think this song is mostly about depression. This first verse is saying hte problem is not the effect, its the cause and that he may look fine to other people, but when he's alone hes a mess and crying for help...cutting himself is just a metaphor. The second verse is that he closes his eyes and sees himself and how fragile he is..he is lonely and the only answers he gets back are echoes. Pre-chorus is him saying that whatever he decides to do, he wants whatever he is asking (maybe god or a friend) to understand and be there for him. The chorus is asking for that person/thing to take his life and transform it into something better The next verse is him getting anxious/nervous and wants the change to come the last is about the change and he hopes it will work |

| In Flames – Satellites And Astronauts Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| my fav lyrics ever..i definatly think its him asking the satellites and astronauts if there are better things to come for mankind, not that are these are the greatest acheivments...it makes more sends following the rest of the lyrics and the rest of the album, especially after he jsut wants a trip to the moon to see how stupid we look from thousands of miles away... | |
| In Flames – Reflect the Storm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| those lyrics are wrong sandmage...the ones dreadnaught posted are correct from the cd booklet | |
| In Flames – Moonshield Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| err that last part should say clayman-come clarity was written in english by anders | |
| In Flames – Moonshield Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| jesper wrote these lyrics, and a few others on tjr, the rest on the album were made by sundin and anders. whoracle was written entirely by sundin based off of themes by anders and jesper. colony was written entirely in swedish by anders, then translated by sundin, colony-come clarity was written in english by anders | |
| In Flames – Jotun Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| in flames lyrics have a lot of sarcasm...this song is a prophecy/foreshadowing of the destruction of earth because of the path humans are heading in. He sees buildings (jotuns) as a part of the problem and is using them in reference. | |
| In Flames – Words Within The Margin Lyrics | 19 years ago |

interesting analogies...but this song does follow the same theme as the rest of the album as it is a storyline. this and morphing into primal are 2 songs after mankinds futuristic utopia is discussed, then there is the destructino of mankind/society (episode 666), then everything counts (we realized our mistakes and it was our fault, but it happened too late), then whoracle (the soothing calm after mankind is gone). maybe this song has something to do with a person in the future thinking maybe the path we have gone was the wrong way...I'm not sure, this song has really weird vocals. I would love for sundin/anders to post an article giving a brief description of what the lyrics mean to them. |

| In Flames – Jester Script Transfigured Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this is the gay utopia that man has finally created...where we are nothing like what we should be, its a scary though to the writer, and it gets destroyed in episode 666 | |
| In Flames – Food For The Gods Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| jesper wrote a handfull of lyrics in tjr only....he wrote artifacts of hte black rain and moonshield...the rest of the lyrics in tjr and whoracle were mainly written by niklas sundin based off themes made by anders and jesper, some were writeen by anders and translated by sundin. Colony was completely written by anders in swedish and translated to english by niklas sundin with a few changes to make them sound right, but stay the same....clayman up until now has all been written in english by anders | |
| In Flames – Everything Counts (Depeche Mode cover) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| this song was the perfect choice for the end of the record...we finally realized we were wrong and it was our mistake/fault but it was all too late, then whoracle is the soothing calm of the earth with no humans | |
| In Flames – Episode 666 Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| i am hearing something whispered after marionette skies...but i cant make it out | |
| In Flames – My Sweet Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| also the old way could be an old memory you want to be gone and to forget about. | |
| In Flames – My Sweet Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
also one of the reasons i love in flames lyrics..they follow a main point, but it can be changed to however you see it...making everyone relate to them. there arent many bands out there with better lyrics than in flames tjr through come clarity |
|
| In Flames – My Sweet Shadow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| in flames lyrics tend to be vague. i think the past thing being talked about (relationship, way of life, drugs, etc...) is up to you to determine...but the point of the song is that the singer has found a new way of doing things/new relationship/new life/whatever...a better way that he wants to keep, but he finds the old ways coming back, but he wants that flame to burn out in the ashes, and wanted the new shored to be fueled and burning...his dark past should lie cold | |
| In Flames – Vacuum Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
dreadnaught posted the correct lyrics from the booklet. its "hear her voice", not "hear a voice" and the first line is "the yesterday we loved. speak of tomorrow" |
|
| In Flames – Reflect the Storm Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
you find out who you or other people really are in the most extreme of situations, see how they act/react = "away form the light of the sun, away i find what is really me" |
|
| In Flames – Dead Alone Lyrics | 19 years ago |
| It's about doing what you think is morally right, and accepting/facing any consequences of that act. Not changing based on what other people or society/media thinks is right. Do what you think is right. | |
| In Flames – Clayman Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
Plastic people are people who do and act based on what other people will think of them. They are the people from Ordinary Story, cynics who put their own goals ahead of being moral and kind to other people. Being success = power in our shitty world. success is defined by the thirst for power. Anders is the sculpture made of clay, he can shape himself however he wants, does what he wants, dresses how he wants, and does whats right. Its such a simple thing to do. I'm seeing sarcasm in "I have to find the path to where it all begins To teach the world my supernatural art" its such a simple thing but noone is doing it, we all need to do waht we want,a nd what we think is right. Not whats defined by other people, governments, religions or the media says. Just be morally correct. I love how all in flames lyrics tie in with each other. If everyone followed these lyrics the world would be a nice place. In flames rox0rz |

| In Flames – Ordinary Story Lyrics | 19 years ago |
|
"egoism dictates human relation a world where fashion outshines morality Here success is written in blood-red colours designed by the thirst for power" people are more concerned about how they look and how they present themselves rather than who they really are. Its sad but the easiest way to become successfull is to be a jerk, a cynic, act like a free mason, acheive your own goals and interests by putting other people down, rather than do whats right. Its sick, but its the way we are, and things need to change. gather the faithful and propose a toast to the epoch of indifferance epoch = significant event/marking in time. indifference = everyones the same. sarcasm to celebrate the age of everyone being the same. an all to ordinary story with aftertaste so bitter forced to be someone I don´t want to be I´m losing myself, sinking deeper down I´m caught in the world wound web its happeneing all the time, everywhere...you cant escape it this song is basically about the plastic people from clayman. they do what they are told to and what will make them better, act on how otehrs will feel when they should really be made of clay and do what THEY want. The world sucks, in flames shows us this, but they never come off as offending. They are all about being morally correct. I stand by and love their lyrics. best band ever. |
